96 civic $$$?

i am going to look at a 96 ex black civic tomarow automatic. jiffylube forgot to put the oil plug in and the engine is blown, wich is perfect because i have a ls motor ready to go in just have to convert to a manuel. She says only few scratches no dents. im looking at it tomarow and will put up some pics. but should i bother with talking her down or is $900 a fair price.

thanks

900 is a pretty decent price but 500 is always better.

900$ is a good price espeically if the body and paint are good. i would only talk her down allittle like 100$ unless the car is not in good condition.

I had a similar problem

1994 Honda Accord LX two door automatic, perfect shape some clearcoat coming off of the roof, 210k miles $1000. I was like wow perfect deal, I figured even if the engine was shot it'd be a good deal.

Heh. These two must be related, huh? ::)

I go there, theres rust on the quarters. Paint chipping off and clearcoat coming up everywhere. You gotta do some ghetto ---- to get the car started because the womans father began to install an alarm system but died midway through his project... and the engine ran like ass, the interior.. oh God. The roofliner was stained brown (not gonna ask :l), moldy door panels, holes in seats, STRONG smell of cigarettes. Took it for a drive, barely ran, didnt want to go anywhere, shifted like hell... then I get back and the guy was like "GREAT DEAL HUH I WANTED TO ASK 1500 BUT MY WIFE SAID NO, I THINK SHES CRAZY FOR LETTING IT GO SO CHEAP ITS MINT".

I was pissed though, apparently this car was in a flood (that area got flooded badly just months prior) and she failed to mention that. And the entire engine bay was COVERED in oil from all areas.

I hate people.

One thing though, I drove about a half mile from her house and did a nice little burnout :6 just because she wasted my time.
