92 prelude si help!?!?!?!
 

??? ok i just bought this 92 prelude si... and the car runs and idles but when i rev it up it breaks down real bad like theres something wrong with the fire.. ive replaced the module, coil, main relay, plugs, wires, rotor.. i took the module back and got a new distiburtor from a junkyard.. and sometimes the car doesnt start and when i check the fire there isnt any.. then all of a sudden it will fire. its got a mind of its own..!!! pissin me off.. someone please help? think maybe the dist.. from the junkyard is bad? or maybe the ecu? i really wanna drive this car and i got a hell of a deal on it!! my last prelude got totalled and ive been drivin a jetta!! i need my prelude fix :) .. thanks for the help. Well if the firing problem started after the new dizzy from the junkyard theres one of your problems, also sounds like it could be ecu related, If its an h23 I guess the ecu will be cheap but if its an h22 just get a p06 and run a uber map for a stock h22.

the guy i got the car from changed the clutch and after that this problem started... so i changed the dizzy to see if it would help and no go.. so i put the old one back on.. also tried the coil , plugs, and main relay... :4

checked the timing at all??? make sure the belt didn't skip a tooth

check all the grounds and ----. sounds like it could be ECU related. actualy it kinda sounds like the cams could be out of time.

the accords/preludes do have quite a few grounds on the tranny that could be it, electical problems suck one time my main fuse kept blowing becasue my head light relay was bad that was a fun one to find. Just curious does your speedo work?

dont know if the speedo works the car wont run long enough.. but the tac jumps all over the place when its idle.. and the speedo was jumpin around also. and when i rev it the check engine light comes on only while its breakin down..

what'd u mean the tach jumps at idle??? like, it has an erratic idle, or the neeldle is just jumping around like a mofo

theres no check engine light on.. only time it comes on is when i rev it up.. and no the engine doesnt idle all fucked up.. when its idle the tach just jumps up and down sometimes.. like when you have a bad alternator.. but ive checked that also... ill go home today and check the grounds make sure the dipshit that put the clutch in hooked it all back up.. sometimes it wont even fire ill throw a spark tester on it and nothing then all of a sudden it sparks.. its the same at the coil pack... i put the old dizzy back on and it does the same exact thing.. i know the dizzy go bad alot but for 2 of them to be doin the same exact thing is doubtfull..
