I don't think you'll like those S2 900's much. They feel awesome under power, but as soon as you lift SQUIRRELY. I'm trying 300f 450r this time around, and wheelie bars at the track.

I think they are def a little to much as i can almost bounce the rear of the car like a basketball it is so firm and no weight there .I will be taken it easy around corners untill i can afford some new shocks to mount the H&R daily springs on and save the Skunks for the track.JD you have experience with these "T70" SS turbos i was curious if i should try blocking one side of the twin scroll off or run it as is.I remember Wes I believe it was with the HF was running one on a similar engine and was getting boost 4500ish rpm?

I wasn't thinking of you cornering when I said you wouldn't like them... As soon as the rear springs are significantly stiffer than the front you simply fall off corners. I am saying that your car will bounce down the road at a cruise, feeling twitchy and unstable. You will lay into the gas pedal and everything wil feel smooth and sweet, and you'll have a big fat happy smile on your face. Then, as soon as you lift, the car's *** end gets all twitchy and you'll hope you die painlessly, or failling that just die, because you're pretty sure you don't want to live as fucked up as the sort of wreck you feel coming on is going to leave you.

BTW, the fact you have stock-equivalent Tokico Blues trying to manhandle anything stiffer than a 350# spring means they'll last less than a hundred miles, and not do a great job of damping before they blow out. I've got Blues on my rear also, and am planning a secondary shock mount off the rear of the trailling arm, mount some cheap QA1's or the like with the heim joint ends. That should damp 450# springs well enough.

Personally, I'm not too happy with the T70's. Wes' apparently lasted longer than I thought it did - he daily drove that car, I thought it was a weekend ride - but 10K miles and smoking with warped turbine shaft vs 25 miles compressor nut falls off vs 750 miles chews up bearings and dies is pretty ------- disheartening. If you have one, and want to run it, here's what I would do in order of preferrence to improve spool:

1) make a split turbine manifold with paired runners.
2) fit a T4 P-trim turbine housing. Local machinist fit a .58 AR housing to Wes' reman T70 for $40-50... it almost fits on just needs to be milled down so that there isn't a huge air gap between turbine wheel + housing.
3) block off one of the runners in the scroll. You only want 300-350 whp, so it won't be a big deal in terms of restriction.

FYI, Wes' engine never ran quite right, it was very down on power and took a LOT of boost to hit 404 whp. It has had a lot of oil pressure problems, redneck-installed sleeves sank twice, VTEC engages when it feels like it. A healthy engine will probably spool a T70 before 4800 rpms. Wes' current plans are to blown what he has up... the cyl head has VTEC eliminated, so it'll run off the high cam lobe all the time, and we're doing both #1 and #2 above... we'll play around with the Buchi manifold on both turbine housings, try for 600 whp, and see how we like it... because that engine and turbo are going to get blown to flinders.

I would ditch that ctr crank pully I have heard of them wrecking mains and exploding oil pumps. I actually just met the guy at the local track this weekend who had this happen. he was running the jackson racing pully. He had a lot of money in his setup I mean he was like 65 and retired. has dart block and sent it to kenny train to get it tuned. thing ran 123mph in the 1/8 yes thats not a type-o 123 in the 1/8. well anyways was balanced and such dude told me he actually watched his oil pressue drop to completely nothing. exploded the dam oil pump gear. also on a side note don't the ss auto crap wastegats suck a ton.

JD- I think i wil try number three and block one side off.As long as this turbo can last me 3-4 months till the car is parked again for winter and phase 2 of the build then good enough.I would like to run a Holset in the future anyways.I was planning on buying some Koni Yellows to run with the SKunks and put the blues back on with the H&R i normally run.Your ride description is nice to hear i look forward to it I need some more videos of Wes's HF trashing street bikes maybe some 1000's now when you guys are done

shanerv- Yes I'm fully aware of the lack of harmonic dampening with the CTR pulley but I like to live on the edge and gamble so we will see if my oil pump gear lasts the 3-4 months it needs to. The SS wastegates have never given me a problem to date including a few i have installed on others cars and im so poor i will continue to run them till i can afford to grab a Tial.

Those chrome dubs went back to the previous owner as they werent included with the deal just some CRX SI wheels. Before i would allow delivery of the car the previous owner had to remove the 3ft aluminum wing he had on the car This car had some of the saddest wiring I've seen in a while to it took me 8 hours with wire cutters and a solder gun to fix it all up back to original.

He's got a lot of video of him racing the Mustang guys locally, pretty funny stuff. He's just a little lazy about ever bringing me footage to rip. :/

I dunno how well he'd fare against a full liter bike... at 600 whp probably pretty well. All of the modern liter bikes get pretty nasty, and if you remember the video that GSXR750 rider tapped the revlimit for a second... Wes would have pulled him anyway, but it wouldn't have been so quick - that first car length where he caught back up to the guy was due to operator error, once then the biker got back into it and you saw how he gently pulled him.

Speed Phreak only did as well as he did against liter bikes because a lot of riders are too cocky to downshift, and then don't have time to once your spool's on.
