i would be hella pissed. buy a brand fuckign new car and the tranny blows when you can buy a damn 90' civic with 200k miles on it and tranny shifts like butter lol.

I am a honda repair tech. There is no recall and probably won`t be. The kid in the video is a fag who doesn`t know how to drive.

REALLY my wifes FIT Sport has issues with second gear. Pulls it'self in in gear and sometimes doesnt want to release out of second. Been to the dealership 3 times and still nodda. Also been there for paint chiping where the front and rear bumpers meet the wheel wells. Stress crackes from too much torque from the factory. Honda fixed that though.

No offense, but the way Honda operates is very shady. Unless the dealership is willing to take on the cost of repair and replacement of the transmission it isn`t going to get fixed. Honda Corporation will always try to pass the problem onto the dealership which "sold the vehicle". I am betting corporate is fully aware of the problem and are comming up with a "fix" for it secretly.

Honda will most likely continue to deny that there is a problem with the transmissions, blaming it on driver error....only to come out with an updated transmission for the next model year. Typical corporate penny pinching.

it was the same ---- on the RSX-S and there was a re-call on earlier models. However two of my friends has later models and it has the same problem.

Honda sucks :P but does`t suck as much as GM does. :P

all vehicles will last long if maintainted well. every car has there cons. gm is fuel pumps transmissions, etc. hondas have there fucked idle, rust problems, and thrid gear. i mean come on yea hondas last forever but gm vehicles will last a while if maintained. i mean a guy in medford hit 1 million miles on a gm.

Re: 8th gen civic si recall?

Ive had my 07 Si for a year now and have noticed the fallowing.

----The steering rack makes a loud clunk sound when I turn (even at low speeds when parking)
----Suspension makes a creaking sound when going out of driveways or over speed bumps (like the wheels arent bolted on tight or something) (but they are)
----3rd gear is hard to get into when its cold (you have to shift at 5k or over to get it in without forcing it) after driving for a few miles its easier to get it in.
---- Misc ---- has started to rattle inside already.

I already got a recall notice for the front wheel bearings (aparently they weren't installed properly and they could cause the wheel to fall off!!)

I called my honda dealer they looked at the car and said there is nothing wrong with it... I really hate the ------- steering rack clunk, that ---- is loud and its emberrasing...

I bought a new car so i wouldnt have to deal with ---- like this.

------- honda needs to get there ---- together and fix these issues before they turn into major problems

If the steering keeps getting worse and they dont want to fix it. IM just going to pull the engine, tranny, interior, and its going to end up stripped and torched in an alley somewhere in Tijuana, full coverage plus gap insurance FTW.

great idea! but how are you gonna get it to TJ with not motor?

Re: 8th gen civic si recall?

I don't have an issue with my 3rd gear. The only thing is it's harder to shift when it's cold... I do know people have a problem with it (like popping out and ----). I think it's a small problem that is compounded by some drivers inability to drive.

I too have the same steering rack "pop" that -------- has from time to time... just more annoying that anything. Otherwise, I love my car :-\

Either way you look at it the quality of Honda has come down too much since the 90's. It's a damn shame when you can start to compare their quality with that of Hyundai or GM. Sad to say it but I will never buy a new Honda. :P

Agreed, I work for Honda and could have gotten a really nice employee discount...bought a Subaru Impreza instead.

-------- I think you are talking about the REAR wheel bearings recall - it is for an improperly installed ABS O-ring in the rear knuckles. There is a bulletin about the front end clunking, I`ll look it up and send you a PM.
They should have changed the MTF fluid for the difficult to shift into 3rd complaint...the new honda MTF is like water - TOTAL GARBAGE. I use 5w30 line oil in my d-series beaters.

I know 2 people with 07 SI's, one's a coupe the other a sedan. The sedan has 10k on it and already had to get a new tranny :(. My friends coupe has the suspension creeking sound that ghetto d described also. he's spraying a 50shot on it right now , and one day the ecu randomly ---- itself. Not sure if it was the cause, but surprisingly honda replaced it.

Good saying.

I drove my friends 02 RSX-S the other day, not that bad of a car. I'd drive one, it's nicer than my Prelude... however, I'll never quit loving the late 80's-mid 90's Hondas over any of their new ----. It all seems to have problems anymore (the company as a whole.) :-\
