89 hatch si

whats up fellas i just recently bought a 89 hatch si model and that sucker it much faster than my accord. one thing though i was driving it pretty hard and i was shifting at around 7500! without the rev limiter kicking in. i was curious to know what the stock limit is set to or if this ecu had been modded. i looked at the ecu and it is a pm6,it looks normal for the inside but it is from a 91, the date is stamped on it. im thinking maybe the prior over did something to it because it also was lowered and had the cat removed, thanks for the help!!

It should be cutting out at 6500rpm, unless the guy before you put in an 89 integra ecu. but i wouldnt drive it so hard if i were you.

the ecu box is actually dated as manufacture date 04/09/91. would the 91 integra ecu have that higher rev limit?? it just feels very strong and it keeps pulling hard at those rpms, kinda addicting you know.but i should keep below that, ill try. :'(

man, keep it belov 7 grand, i know its addicting, but youre going to get valve problems if you keep pushing the cars limits

a 91 integra ecu your car would run so rich it would smell awful. the fuel cut off for an si pm6 is 7200 rpm. you really don't want to go about 6500.

I am sure its just a pm6 ecu, I have had some odd cars over the years, with fuel cut off's not working all the time.. very odd, sometimes it would work at 7200 and sometimes it just simply would not work! I wouldnt recommend reving the a6 over 7200 without any valve train support.

ask sirex what happens when you rev too much past 7G.

he locked his head.
