89 hatch with f22 turbo?

Well, here's the deal: one of my friend's is in the military, needed some cash bad, and sold me his 89 dx hatchback. Even though the stock d15 was rebuilt, the car runs like total dogshit. So my psychotic mind started wondering what it would be like to dump my spare f22 from my old accord into the hatch, and then throw my 14b on top of it. I know it would be alot of work, and have been doing some research on what it would take. I know it's do-able, especially if they can squeeze h-series motors in these cars. My plan is to rebuild the f22, toss it in, strip down the hatch to bare-bones, and run the 14b with a p28 and uberdata. I'd like to use the 5-speed that's still attached to the f-motor, even though the cable to hydro conversion might be a bitch. Anyone got any thoughts or answers on this setup? I don't want to build anything flashy, just a plain-jane mean machine. One seat, no heat, and a good old fashioned straight pipe. ;D Hook me up with some ideas here guys! 8)

Hopefully i can convince my g/f to let me waste err...i mean re-invest ::) all my money. I'm kinda hoping to get a start on it when it warms up a little more, Northeast PA is cold as hell right now, and i lost my old garage space. But i plan on taking pics of everything, so maybe in a bit i'll have my own little write-up ;D

If your a fabricator the job can be done if not dont start. It's not that easy. I have been involved in these swaps for years from a very talented friend of mine and it's not for the faint at heart. Unless hasport has their kits out yet the chance of doin it right is slim just reality. Wait for the mount kits to come out

Well, i used to work for a vintage race shop before i moved, so fabricating and machining is not a new thing to me (try getting parts for a 1968 ferrari 350GTO...they just don't make them, plus they only made 6 of these cars total). I've helped out a few friends with crazy swaps, so it's nothing new to me.

Bisi runs a F22 on a D-series tranny in a CRX. He made an adapter plate to fit the motor to the tranny. I saw the car at Route 66 Drag Strip. The motor stands straight up and there would be alot of room for a turbo. I think the DSM manifold can be made to fit that motor for a nice low buck set up. :)

Well here is the problem w/ the d trans very weak he is breakin them at every race w/ 300 whp a turbo f22 should make that fairly easy.
