If you only have 400 on you, how are you going to put this thing back together, even bondo costs...
I would recommend waiting to buy something you really want thats worth it, rather than taking on a project without the funds to make it materialize into anything, but just my 2 cents

Re: 86 300zx turbo
the car isnt even that messed up exterior wise just has a crack in the bumper im not even going to fix it. then the interior is alright perfect seats the headliner is a little messed up im not going to fix that either as long as it has no leaks when it rains. and the engine didnt look like it was missing the guy at the dealership said it runs but the guy has to come recharge the battery. so tommorow i might go with my dad hopefully he will get it for a early christmas present. but he has no money till his next paycheck cuz my mom spends it on bullshit.

Re: 86 300zx turbo
my first car was a 84 z turbo automatic. Fun car, but my'n ran it was a pos and I picked it up for $800, I wish I would'nt have rushed into it just cause it was a z car, cause for a nice old z turbo they tend to cost a bit more than $1200, the one your looking at sounds like a pile thats going to need alot of work and parts will be exspensive.

Re: 86 300zx turbo
let me tell you waht
STAY THE ---- AWAY from that car..
if you do buy it.
being that its an 86 junkyard is your best bet for body parts and there at a premium.
next what condition is the engine personaly why is it wrecked did some kid buy it and hotdog the ---- out of it wreck the car renig on payments so it got repoed there it sit's waiting for another sucker..
Z31 cars are plagued with MIND boggling wiring problems so are Z32's
beyond that parts are expesive and also note labor is extreamly time consuming.
i work at a Nissan dealership and parts for my 200sx turbo are not cheap..( i said 200sx turbo not 300z)
stay with a Honda the parts are relitively cheap and plenty avaliable
and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out the wiring issues
were i work there has been numerous z31,z32's come in just for wiring problems.
the famous No start or the start and stall issue. some times some cars sit for weeks and then some never get fixed
its that bad sometimes... we have 2 Mastertechs that specialize in that area even they get stumped
i would rather be working on Porsches CSI injection system is far easier....
take bong hit, smoke some crack think about it and if you still want to buy the car let your dad hit you in your face couple of times
there are easier and better projects to be had...
listen to some advice.
---- get a 280z or 260z, or 510, b210, if like nissan that much. ---- buy a used Sentra SE-R old square body
now you have had read my rant so don't be so hasty.....
