Supposively at a 15mph start the srt-4 is supposed to be able to take an evo and a sti :o

Yes, the NEON SRT-4 depending on drivers could take an evo. My brother-in-law did, from a roll start of course, not by much but he did. A couple of times, now off the line the evo or STi will own it. Also his NEON had both NEON ans SRT-4 badges on the trunk, so I don't know where you guy have been looking. And the sx2.0 crap is not the srt-4 is another different neon model. The srt-4 is a 2.4 not a 2.0, all the other neons, have a 2.0 4 cyl. They are just trying to convince people they are 2 different cars, and they are, inside and under all that metal, except for the shape of the car, of course with different bumpers and hood

i hate neons too but i do give props for being cheap with decent factory hp specs. i just raced one the other day, he had a stage 1 upgrade he said (which is bigger injectors, chipped ecu, k&n filter, and some other ----). he got me off the line cuz i spin like a mofo but i was MAD pulling on top end!!! they are pretty quick though...cant be mad at them...

too much wheel spin when you punch it. not reaqlly that much in a wrx.

A couple is adding 10g or even 15g but you know once you past 15g, its all "NUMB" to you anyways haha =)

a couple more? have you checked the prices of wrx's and evo's? try about 10k more, which is technically a whole nother car :-\

That NEON was gay, it was even the ricey yellow. Lame. But the 500 hp is impressive. I'd like to see some real action, like drving it into a wall :P. Or if not that at least some drag runs.

But in the end I'm still scared of them NEON srt-4's.

I liked to look of that car, but I don't like how the older neons looked.

You guys are silly - I have a first gen r/t and I think it looks pretty nice as a 2 door but whatever. Everybody thinks their car is the best. I bought the car when it was new pretty much loaded for $12,500 it has a 3.94 end ratio tranny, 150hp, koni adjustable struts(dealer added from the ACR), cams, upgraded computers, headers, iceman intake, and pretty much everything else you want from the dealer cheap. I know it is a little ricy coming from the factory with stripes. but I ran a 15.9 stock there isn't a whole lot out there that will do that for that price. The replacement for the neon in 2005 or 2006 will be a shared platform with the lancer.

BTW: that is only one of quite a few 11 second SRT-4's and it has the stock clutch and bottom end.
