5 lug conversion
Ok so is there any way I can use a crv hub assembly, or parts off a crv to switch it to the 5 lug? Just wondering cuz I have everything from the crv laying around.
To go on my 94 dx. |
Re: 5 lug conversion

Re: 5 lug conversion
will 5bolt make it faster?
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
nah man, it makes it stronger. so you don't snap your studs off. it's like a dsm w/ a 6 bolt motor. more bolts= mad tight drifting yO

Re: 5 lug conversion
murdoc should know, hes the HMT JdM slut here, hahaha
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
no doesnt make me faster.... will prolly make me slower, but i could care less. its the 1 exterior fixing up type item I want.
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
Has anyone ever snapped their studs off? Crashes where the complete suspension is trashed do not count, and neither does overtightening.
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
I yes, had 2 studs snap, after 1 lug backed itself off, then the 3rd snapped and i drove down the road on my rotor... was pretty fun actually.
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
i was just bein sarcastic, but i spose it would make it stronger. it's not like it would really need it though

not really a fan of spending a shitload of money for 5 lug bolts...not usefull in any way... and you can get the same size brakes for cheaper and bolt right up wihtout needing 5lug... |
Re: 5 lug conversion
You should be able to do it. might need the ex/si/gsr knuckles w/fast brakes mount.
Front ITR rotors, pads and calipers are interchangable with front CRV same. |
Re: 5 lug conversion
Unless you want to use ITR wheels/brakes, it's fairly useless. It's not like you have to worry about studs breaking with 4 lug, unless you don't torque your wheels down correctly or something. But if your hardware is crappy or not torqued correctly on a 5 lug, you'll have the same problems.

Re: 5 lug conversion
If you want ITR Brakes, Just get Si or Teg Steering Knuckles, 94 Accord Wagon Calipers and 93 Prelude Rotors Re-Drilled. same as a type r for about 100-120 bones.

Re: 5 lug conversion
my stock crx si disks do pretty good, definately wouldnt spend money on a 5 lug conversion.....i'd work towards, maybe a bigger turbo?
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
Some of you guys didnt catch the point. I ALREADY have all the brake setup from a crv, so the only money spent would be getting them on... Im not gunna lie, I want it purely for looks, and the gunmetal itrs.

Honda-Tech is your source for visual JDM madness upgrades. Not many people care about "upgrades" here that don't make the car perform better, but yes I do see your point about already having the parts. ;) __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Re: 5 lug conversion
If im driving down the road with my music cranked I cant hear ----. The car felt like it droped in the front so I slowed down to pull over... but it was to late rite after the 2 snaped the last snapped and it was over. but it was cool, I fell on the dust guard ----, so the only damage was a warped rotor and 1 nut got filled down so bad it fused itself together, so i left it alone. i mean its strogner now than before lol.

Re: 5 lug conversion
you must be using aftermarket lug nut?
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
No i am now tho, apperently the rims Im using needed aftermarket lugs.... So i was rockin my stock honda lugs thinking its cool, but obvously not. I had to have the lug style that goes inside the rim itself, like a lip on the tip of the lug.
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
if ur aftermarket rims does not has tappered bolt holes u will need the correct hub ring to center the rim then use the right nut so it ------ the load evently to all the studs.
i don`t see how 4 bolt is weak and all . I drove over a 3 inch tall curb at 80mph + once with stock LS rims :-X, nothing happened at all. |
Re: 5 lug conversion
I never said they were weak, or that I wasnt an idiot for not knowing about the lugs. I just want a certain set of stock honda rims that only come in the 5 lug.
|
Re: 5 lug conversion
just do it and get everyone off your back.
i don't see anything wrong with the swap. good luck. don't forget to post pics. |
