So these engines eat rod/main bearings because they're so strong? I've seen so many 4g engines go like that I lost count ages ago.
There are better 4cyl engines than this. I can name at least the Cosworth YB engine, the Saab B engine, the Volvo B engine and the Fiat Twin cam.

And just because the OEM ECU can't be chipped so easily, that doesn't mean it's ok to use ---- like AFC. There are dozens of stand-alone ECUs on the market that'll do the job, you just need to cut a few wires in order to wire them in.

OEM ecu's that aren't eeproms can't be chipped at all. And AFC's work perfectly well on a dsm with light bolt ons and bigger injectors. Did I say that it was the BEST thing out there? no. If you could read, you would see that I listed other popular plug and play options, including standalones. And please enlighten me as to how your going to get 400hp out of a 16g without nitrous?

Sinister, your going to get TONS of flak for wanting to do this, but it's still bad ***

Oh I wasn't the one who said the 16g was any good...
My Eclipse has a Garrett turbo now.

meth injection w/a standalone would be a good start. and yeah it's been done without nitrous, on pump gas too.

I would LOVE for you to find me a dyno chart or video of a 400hp 16g car on pump gas

i personaly think the 4G63 is a good motor, its just everything around it that is ----

in one month i put 2K worth of parts into a 91 talon i had, but was runnin 21psi on the stock motor/fuel system without any problems

even had a spike when my MBC gave out that went above 25 and the motor was still perfectly fine, just blew an IC hose
