Default 4G63-->Civic?

Been in one of those creative thinking moods.. and with henry doing a 4g63 swap I've been thinking about it. Mostly all my turbo parts from a DSM (14b/450's/intercooler/my IC piping is going to be from an Evo I) and hell, why not? I'd do this after I turbo the D this year, was thinking FWD 4g63 (NA or turbo, whichever I can get my hands on) then the turbo FWD trans. Anyone know if theres any difference between non turbo and turbo? I can only assume the turbo one would be stronger?

Also a friend of mine has talked before about mounting a honda distributor on a non-honda engine to run say, crome on the car. I was thinking either of doing that or I'd just stick to the stock ecu+AFC since I don't think I could ever figure out megasqurt. Would the crome option even be possible; do the 4g63's even spin the same way? Just doing megasquirt would be nice but I don't evne know where I could start, and crome sounds more appealing.

Another problem was axels. Was thinking of basically taking a half of a honda axel and half of a mitsubishi axel and welding them together, would this even be feasable? I wouldn't be doing anything crazy to the engine as of this moment so it only has to handle what a 14b can punch out on the ole 4g63.

any helpful ideas?

This makes my brain hurt. lol. By the time you got a dist and the ecu to run on the 4G you could buy megasquirt or just run the stock electronics. Not to mention if the ecu would even read the 4G sensors and then if they don't making the honda sensors fit and work on the 4G. I'd say your easiest and cheapest bet would be to get a full FWD turbo swap and use that and measure and have someone weld the axles together. Trying to make this work with that in so and so car is .

all dsm fwd transmissions are garbage, id say put a obx lsd in one and it would be fine, id rock a evo 3 16g if u can get one there good for 400hp, for axles id try to find somone thats done it and see what they did, i dont know if i would trust welding an axle. for tuning if u can figure out megasquirt or how to use crome that would be sick. afc's are shitty but work for factory boosted cars alright

Megasquirt is pretty common on the 4g63's and there is writeups everywhere about it. I used some 4g instructions to get my toyota running using a 4g ignition.

I've been reading that same how-to and using that when I get my MS kit.

Your a ------- moron. Please stop talking. As far as axles go, your best bet would be to call up the driveshaft shop and have some custom made with dsm splines on the inside, and honda splines on the outside with the custom length you need. I, personally, wouldn't trust axles welded together. For an ECU, I would just run the stock electronics. The DSM ecu's do a decent job at dealing with raised boost, and stock ecu's + an AFC have been proven over and over again. Or then if you wanted to get crazy with it, use a DSMlink ecu, or an AEM plug and play standalone

If your REALLY interested, I was in the middle of doing this swap into a del sol and have half of the motor mounts completley fabbed up and for sale

Driveshaftshop quoted me at 500 for custom FWD axles. I dropped that idea fast. That was more then the whole ------- swap put together. lol.
