4-Pt harness mount question.

In hatchbacks like the CRX I've seen people mount the shoulder straps of harnesses to their upper rear strut brace. Now, I know that you can mount your straps to a roll cage, but a strut bar is much thinner. Is this safe, or a big no-no?
