Default 36th Birthday, Skydiving carnage.

Well I turned 36 the otherday. So my wife(HMT MOM) asks what do you want for your birthday. Well I think about it for a while. I have everything. Tools, a new truck, my own shop, three turbo projects with no time to finish them. What do I want. Then it hits me. I have always wanted to go skydiving. The ultimate adrenaline rush right? So I go to the local skydiving club and they give me the choice. A tandem jump where you are straped to another dude, or a solo jump. Naturally I take the solo jump. Who wants to be straped to a dude? So I take the class, watch the video, suit up, take the plane ride and jump.
First off, this is the best thrill ride you will ever go on. I have driven a Porsche 930 TTs, Lotur Espre TTs, some of the fastest muscle cars and bikes you can imagine. There is nothing like it. You free fall from 14,000 feet for 30 seconds or so to 5,500 feet. You are going 120 MPH, when the chute opens yu slow to 25MPH and slowly decend for two minutes or so.
The only problem with this whole thing is the landing. When you land you are suposed to "flare" the chute. You pull all the way down on the togles to slow from 25MPH to 5MPH. Well I didnt flare fatenough and hit just a little too hard. I broke my right ankle nd spent the night in the hospital after geting seven screws and two plates in the tibia. I am going to be on crutches for six weeks.

None of this changes the fact that it was a great time and I would love to do it again. And it wont slow me down either. I am still running CCA and working six days a week.

Happy Birthday to me.

aww that sucks, but hey, life is life and live it til it's over.

Glad you enjoyed it, despite your injury. Hope you heal fast too :P
