Default 320i bmw

hey guys well i'm new here, and hoping you guys could help me out. i have a 81 bmw 320i, it's got a 1.8, 5-speed, with mechanical fuel injection. and i want to turbo it if possible. Does anyone here know much about these cars? any information would be helpful, should i do it?, what turbo should i use? any help at all because i am not familer with much of this. thanks.
i might have a line on a 1st gen dsm 14g turbo, intercooler, manifold, and B.O.V.

I know nothing about that car, but my first suggestion would be efi. Click on the megasquirt banner at the top of the page, would be a good place to start imo.

Ya I know nothing as for these cars. Would an 85 have the same engine as an 81?....I found a link of someone who converted an 85 carb into fuel injection.

It is a full stand alone engine management system. I have used this system and I think its great. But if you want cheap EFI, i would go with Megasquirt like someone already suggested.

doe's anyone know if this will work if i left it as mechanical fuel injection, i'm a student so i don't have much in the way of extra cash, or any ideas at all aside from switching to electronic?, i was think mechanical injectors from a bigger bmw, like the 325.

go talk to the people at dtmpower.net, join up the forums, wait to get activated, then ask away. they know a lot about boosting bimmers from what i've read over there. check it out they might be able to help you.

runing a boosted CIS car is possible, volvo did it from the factory
a very very small gruop of VW 16V giys use the volvo fuel system on thier engines
