ok, got the 2nd turbo on today and everything looks great. Just one question. Basically in 1st gear, if i dont really give it gas around the time it would usually spool, the turbo kinda buzzes. I think it might be the turbo chopping air or something, im not sure. Anybody know what this might be. all the other gears work flawlessly.

does anybody have a clue what im talking about or are you all brainless or just dont have a turbo?

the turbo "Buzzes" well maybe we are all brain dead, but its a little tough to diagnose a sound that we cannot hear. So it's pretty much up to your to find your own sound. Check shaft play and see if the fins are touching the compressor housing. Make sure the downpipe and the rest of the exhaust isnt rubbing anything. Make sure the charge pipes arnt rattling against the body.

ya you might not see anything actually touching, but if it is within like 2mm or 5mm, or really close i guess, then when you hammer it in 1st your car squats and then something will rub. Thats why you might not hear it in other gears cuz your car isnt squating.

just a guess but if the turbo is sized wrong it can make surging noises when it's operating outside of the surge limit on a compressor map....this doesn't only happen when it's OVERboosted.....

figured that would give me some replies. Well, thanks for the help. But I think 2000psi has the right idea. It feels like the turbo wants to spool but im not giving it enough gas. The second i give it gas the buzz goes away and you can feel that everything is working.

Do you have 1 turbo for every 2 exhaust manifold leads? Or is it your second turbo ever? I'm a little confused.:P
