2jz in a rwd probe?!? :)

If anyone remembers the thread I started a while back about the local guy's supra that has run 9's in the 1/4 https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=44787.0 This is another car that he is working on. Ford probe, rwd conversion, 2jz, complete drag car. They just got it started the other day, they started it n/a just to make sure it ran and everything was all good. As far as I know the future plans for this include a HUGE ------- turbo. Vid of the initial startup: http://www.boostwerx.com/vids/Probezilla.wmv If you want I'll link dave and the owner of the probe to this thread to answer any questions. :)

EDIT: video link fixed. 150 people looked at this and not one told me I had the wrong vid link. Without it this thread is pointless.

I saw that a while back on probetalk.com, he also had the fastest probe on that site and said he needed more :6

I've seen the car in person and talked to the owner. I haven't seen it since the new engine though. A few months back, on a local forum, he said he's hoping for 7-800 rwhp and hoping to run in the 8's this year. Should be fun to watch.

Haha, that's moxy.

Local guy, Scott, has a 2JZ in an '80 Corolla. 12.6 at Bristol on 6 psi, zero traction on the street on slicks with the boost turned up, he ended up tubbing it. Aside from a 600 whp dyno pull video, I haven't heard much about the car lately. Shame, really, because the "I can put a 2JZ into anything - watch me" guys are an interesting bunch.

yep, it's matt fall (pretty sure that is his name), and dave has the supra, I didn't say this was dave's.

Thread from the dead, i know, but this is the same car, now running well. He is still getting used to the 4 link. He plans on using n20 on the line to spool, but dooesnt wanna have to go through saftey precautions of a sub 10 seconds car for a little while longer... Enjoy...
