If it was given to me I'd rock it. Otherwise nothing I'd take a loan out for or look for specifically when buying a car. Minor face lift but nothing to call home about. Ditch the funky Saturn'ish 3rd door, slap a snail on it and make it fastback like the 7's.

are you gay do you know what a falcon xr6 is?
if you really want the additional torque without sacrificing hp why not do what ford and a shitload of people with s2000's and bolt on a supercharger?
but a turbo would make allot more sense because of it being a high revving rotory (the manual's engine is atleast yes the engine in the auto is not the same as in the manual versions)
a small turbo running arround 5-7psi wouuld spool arround 2200-2500rpm and give you the needed torque and they could stay under 300hp (have to keep the hp numbers low because of taxes and licenses required in other countrys) and it would be a beast i know that mazda in the early 90's sold a 626 with a really small turbo running like 4psi for throttle response and torque
but i feel the mazdaspeed rx8 atleast should have boost and be arround 270-300hp so it can compete with the gt mustang nissan 350z and sky/solstice turbo
and i think they could still sell the turbo version for under 35k if they wanted to

go DIAF cornfuzed, i think they meant ford doesnt do anything CURRENTLY turbo'd... they had to turbo t-bird coupe too dumbass.
as for being boosted, it would be weaksauce if it came boosted at like 7psi, with MODERN turbo cars (wrx, STi, EVO, GT-R) they are all 12+psi, i'd expect no less from a boosted RX-8
