2008 HMT Track Times Thread

Figure might as well make this because everyones tracks are either open, or will be opening shortly for the year. Post up time slips and/or a link/blurb about your car. I'll try to keep a top-10 list updated through the year too. Winner gets an e-pat on the back. Maybe try to convince some sponsors to do a gift card or something along those lines for the guy who ends up at the top of the list at years end?

16.4 @ 63mph in a stock 1992 lumina with a 3.1L v6 (stock rated at like 150hp and 165ft-lbs on the dyno it made 82whp and 91wft-lbs before the tranny started slipping)
that blistering run was amazing (i was the slowest car on the track that week, that did not break and fail to complete the run)

and i ran a 13.6 in a 1986.5 supra with a 7m ge and a home made turbo setup (t4 exhaust side,t3 compressor,1.15 hot side, .60 a/r , 57 trim)
at 6psi with the only other mod being a tune
dynoed 266whp with the turbo (178 before the turbo)
but i am going to try to get about 22psi out of it (should be in the range of arround 450-500 hp with a better tune, some headwork, and pistons, rods, and crank)
hoping for 11's this summer on 10inch slicks

yeah it was a joke, but i forgot to note that the car has 218k miles and i am amazed it still moves under it's own power (bought it 4 years ago with 130k for a winter beater with a heater)

weird thing is eventho it's gutless it dose some pretty decent burnouts (on dry pavement it'll light one of the front tires up for 15-20ft (theres even smoke) and on damp pavement i have got it to spin for about 85-90ft (it don't sound like much but it's a $250 car and it's automatic and slow)
i want to take the engine out and build a gocart or a 1/8th mile bracket vw beetle (i would take and put the entire lumina frontend in the front of the old rear engine vw, fenders and all and have a lumieetle it would probubly run pretty good (1200lbs and should run high 11's with a new tranny)

wow, i guess the ricers are getting dumber, like their de evolving and becoming more engrained with "systems" and "dubs" and cant forget the "neon, wings, and sweet ass stickers"
i saw one the other day that looked like it had an hmt decal in the back window i was a 90 or so civic hatch with like 17's on the back and 15's on the front (the 15's were like knockoff enki's and the rears were some gansta chrome knockoffs) it had a big fart can and was bright yellow with red "graffix" on the side (that looked like a 5 year old drew on) and the the dood was painted black (you know for that tyte kdm look) but i looked like the entire paint job came from the home depot (shitty house paint and the paint brushes they used to put it on) the guy was a tall ass white dude, i tried to race him (in the lumina) but he said no because his car was so fast it's not street legal so he has to go slow so the cops don't notice how "fast" it is (and it was auto)
i think the lumina would have beat it, now thats sad

Re: 2008 HMT Track Times Thread

i made the mistake of accidently driving by the local highschool while tuning a car last week and had some :8 in a V6 mustang try and race us lol, me and D112crzy from here. we were driving another friends boosted DC and these punk ass kids had no respect lol. there were 2 turn lanes that we were in both goign the same direction, dumbass guns it around the turn then takes off, so i had to do a 2nd gear pull to get back up to him since i took the turn liek a normal person since i figured we would start at the straight :1, then pulled on his ass like he was standing still lol. then out of nowhere some douche :8 comes up in a bright ass blue EF (nothing special done to it esides the sick stickers :S) does a fly by while were at a light and never sits around long enough to get a run on him. it was 3pm and i wasn't going to race his dumbass through traffic but the first guy we had alot of room before there were any cars.

i dont condone street racing but i do condone putting high school kids in their place when need be :y

Re: 2008 HMT Track Times Thread

yea street racing is gay but... high school fuckers think cause they got an intake and exhaust that they are going to go fast and have racecars.... dumbassses dont even know how to drive stick and there talking ----... i just laugh in there faces when they ask me to race them... makes them evn more pissd..

this year i will have my corolla at the track... hoping for 11s with a 50 shot of nitrous... ive seen it done and i prettt sure i could aswell.... by the end of the summer hoping to b boosted running 9s..

yeah thats the only bad thing is my supra is kinda heavy but i get pretty good traction even with just steelies and like 195-55-16's so i think that with a rear suspension setup and some slicks it would probubly lift the front tires off the ground for a foot or 2

I wanted to get the 18k rear drag springs, but money was an issue and wanted to get to the track fast...so i used energy bushings on my struts...its jacked in the rear but bottoms out with a half inch clearance...rough ride, but good for traction
