racecars are suppose to sound anything unlike your civic ::) ::) ::)

hondaunlimited 11-25-2006 01:21 PM

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

yeah, but i dont think its supposed to be popping and crackling when the wight of the car shifts to the front when negotiating a corner. another thing, that driver couldn't even perform a decent drift around those corners. don't get me wrong, i probably couldn't do any better, but ive only driven FWD cars, lol :y

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

i think that the car sounded like my nitro car.... i cant tune it worth a ---- so it makes all kinds of funny sounds like that...

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

Dont sound messed up to me. Sounds like a mean clutch and a dog box tranny and a really chirpy bov. Just because it doesn't sound like your civic doesn't mean that it's messed up in anyway. ::)

what a peice of ----.

looks like it sticks to the roud, gutless as hell if that was wot

french people are not good at anything

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

no it had an inconsistant aceleration acording to the sound.... if it was a smoother sound, as the rpms increased, then i would say cool...i personaly liked the tone of the sound..

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

that thing kicks ass
i think the driver was pretty handbrake-happy, but i think he knows more about rallyracing than all of us combined, so he can do that.
it makes me think about a fwd rally car -- civic
granted, it wouldn't compete with evo's, but with a good driver, a civic could do alright. there are some honda rally cars out there, just definitely not in wrc or anything approaching that level

HMTdmc 11-25-2006 03:01 PM

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

It sounded good. My brother inlaws awd talons bov sounds exactly like that. I think the breaking up sound was just tires breaking free on that rough rode.

nice car and good driving he was keeping it smooth. roads like that if you get up to much speed before the curve you just end up wasting time in the brakes. then your brakes over heat then you have to slow way down or stop until they cool down again.

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

What the hell is with everyone jumping onthe "just because it doesnt sound like your honda" bandwagon? ???

I've heard other Mitsubishi rally cars and they sounded a hell of a lot better than that ::)

pretty much every rally car sounds like that, dont you guys watch wrc?

BS, rally cars use anti-lag, no BOV. they burn through turbo's every rally

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

Once again they will try and after about half way into the year they will fail. I hate marketing in racing. They show up, finish dead last, if they even finish, but they take a bunch of pictures to fool people into thinking they have a good program.
Two years ago they shipped all there ----, plus 6 cars to some far off place. They didn't even make the start because none of the cars would start :l Talk about a ---- horse ---- operation. The FIA-WRC tried to kick them out for good but the lawyers talk a good game. They are just sick of their ---- and the inconsistintes racing. They are like we going, we aren't, we are in, now we are out.

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

i may be wrong, but the BOV sounded like a 3-stage. anyway, thats about the only thing i liked about the car

Tough-guy 11-26-2006 08:51 PM

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

Either there was a chipmunk in every shot or the car was running close to surge.(Could have also just been a chirpy BOV)

Anti-lag used on Ralley cars is done through timing retardation, and controlled explosions in the exhuast manifold. And yes, they do use boost pressure By-pass Valves. No they don't go through $1,400 turbos units every race.

Sounded a little funny. But I'd still much rather drive that than my POS Civic.

That's for sure.

Retards, thats exactly what Rally cars sound like.
It's AWD not RWD or FWD.

I think it looks alright, but the squeaky bov(ish type noise lol) got mildly annoying.

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

As far as I know that car has no dump valve. It has an electronically controlled valve that dumps air directly into the exhaust manifold for the anti lag. That sound is just compressor chatter.

Tough-guy 11-28-2006 11:14 AM

Re: 2007 mistubishi rally car

Never heard of air injection into the exhuast. The only systems I've seen in real 3 used spark interrupt to get fuel to collect in the pipe then retarded timing to ignite it(Causing that oh so familiar pop and blue flame out of the tailpipe) upon downshifting to keep the turbo spinning into the corners. But what do I know I just worked on midgets and micro-midgets? :1

AKA the anti-lag(US)/misfire(Japs)/bang-bang(Europe; are they this retarded?)
