2005 cadillac sts burnout question
my uncle got in a car accident with his 04 cts. wasnt his fault. so the dealer gave him a 05 sts and it wont do burn outs.
i havent driven the car yet.. but i will tomorrow... he says it cant do burn outs. is it true the rev limiter and traction control stop the car from doing burn outs? v8 rwd |
Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
my fried had an 00 dts, and no, it wouldn't peel out unless you REALLY tried. it was pretty cool because for a big heavy ass car it would really get it, and it handled very well. the sts system is weird because if you take a corner too fast on purpose to try and get it sideways the traction ---- will kick in and cut the throttle and engage the brakes, so it won't let you wreck it. still fun as hell to drive around though and be big pimp daddy..

Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
Why would anyone buy a cadillac to do burnouts in it? Does this have anything to do with you being from a third world country?

Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
it peels out no problem everytime. its pretty damn peppy. but i was wondering if it could pull out nice smokey burn out

CTS-V STS-V XLR etc... |
Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
My truck has something called "torque management" that prevents it from doing burnouts. :7 I can do them sometimes around corners if I hammer it quick and off the line if I give it a small amount of gas first, but then you feel the homo managment kick in and take your fun away. :(

Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
My mom's 2006 Avalon, with the 280+hp v6 and traction control, will chirp the tires a little, but the traction control takes over and fixes the "problem" >:( :(.
It has some pep to it, for a heavy car, and its comfortable as hell. I can only imagine that the STS has a better system, being a little more expensive and an olds peoples car. I like the CTS a lot, and would dream of having a CTS-V but can't :'( :'(. I saw one the other day, a CTS-V, black, with some big chrome rims, but not huge, maybe 20's. It looked pretty good. |
Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
Do these not come with some kind of button to turn it off? I know my Saturn had a "traction control" button to turn it off/on...

Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
not the avalon, have no clue on the cadillacs.
There is a sequence of turning the key and opening the door to turn it off, but it is just gay. |
Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
are those 280 horse Avalon pretty quick? ect. passing power

Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
Oh yeah....I have fun with that car every once in a while. I was driving it the other day, well aggrasively of course and it surprised me a lot. It picks up really good, moves all that weight like nothing. I thought it could be a big laggy or lazy, but it moved like nothing is holding it back.

Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
it should have an option were you can turn traction control off. My boys 350z has traction control and wont burn out for ---- unless your turn it off.

Re: 2005 cadillac sts burnout question
On the avalon and some lexus there's a sequence you can do to get rid of it, I think I said that before, but no button.
Maybe it's the same for the cadillac a friend of mine also has a 350z without it engaged the car ran a little better at the track , not much a tenth or two. |
