Re:2004 Durango & 5.7l hemi

too bad it takes a 5.7 L V8 with 345 HP to push that heavy POS that quick. :-\ and how many times do you think the soccer mom really gets into it or hauls anyting in it? they wont. i bet less that 10% of them haul anything.. now stick that motor in an old dart or roadruner or hemi then were talking..

That thing is pretty ugly... it looks like a cross between a bunch of SUV's.

It does have a hemi though... so I give it a thumbs up. :)

Re:2004 Durango & 5.7l hemi

Yeah, the new Hemi Ram is fast as hell for a truck, i was talking to a guy with one at teh track, with a flat topper thingy on it(weight), and he had just pulled a 14.8. WTF, it was a cool night out though. He was running 15.1 when it was hot, i was there both times. Pretty impressive.

man that is nuts for a big ass chunk of metal to go that fast. it would hang with my stock b16swapped hatch, if not beat it!

Re:2004 Durango & 5.7l hemi

I was going to get one later this year(looking to trade in the Passat) but then I saw then at the car show and the interior looks like the inside of a KIA.It looks generic as hell.

Re:2004 Durango & 5.7l hemi

dodge is just playing on people who dont know ---- about cars with their "hemi".

all a "hemi" is, is a head with a hemispherical combustion chamber. All hondas are "hemis", as well as most cars that were made after 1970.

dodge started making "hemi" engines to get better performance out of old school overhead valve heads with a wedge combustion chamber.

Re:2004 Durango & 5.7l hemi

Now this is a bad ass Dodge...
http://www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/...dge-magnum.jpg
http://www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/...srt-8-rear.jpg
The Dodge Magnum SRT-8 concept vehicle takes the Hemi one step further, with a Whipple supercharger to add power at both low and high rpm. It helps to raise power to about 430 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque - just a tad more than the official ratings of the legendary 426 Hemi, and without the single-digit gas mileage or oil consumption.

Using rear wheel drive and a V8 forced Dodge to return to the olden days of a long hood and large grille, but pays off with the loss of torque steer and full use of all four tires. Electronic stability control, traction control, and antilock brakes help end the main problem of rear-drive V8s of old: the tendency for the rear to swing around in excessive oversteer, sometimes spinning the driver in a full circle.

Oh and its now in production.Saw a comercial on tv for it yesterday 8).......NICE!
