hey guys as you may or may not know im droping in a gti-r motor into my classic. everything is all set to be taken for a test drive im just waiting for my suspension,.. heres some pics....

thats not me thats my buddy,.. he was the one who basically took the front end off while i got the gti-r ready for her install.

you know the charge pipes don't do a whole lot of cooling when the air hits them so it's not really necessary to have them exposed, haha. you and racing skittle should hang out.

I should have let all the pictures load before I finished hating on it, haha. why do you have a shift light blocking your stock tach, then another tach when you could just have your shift light lower on the dash or where the second tach is and saved $150 plus lots of rice points? this is just standard issue hating, don't take it personally. 8)

Thats sweet.. is it just the GTI-R engines that come with the ITB's and turbo? not all SR20det's have itb's.. it must just be the gti-r's? I know some RB26dett's have ITB turbos as well.

Thats a really cool setup, I bet its going to rip good when shes done. There's a local guy who has a 91 SER with a SR20det with a stock turbo, aftermarket IC and has the boost cranked up, he ran mid 12's pretty much stock. He always raced me in my ls/vtec turbo.. damn good races

well guys,... thanks for the coments so far,.. i know the tach to much but i like it lol call me rice,.. if you can catch me lol, second that fmic is to big thats why i needed to cut all that bumper away,.. trust me if i could have hid them pipes i would have,.. i think im gonn have a custom bumper made once everythings done,.. keep giving me comments i love em from you guys very good constructive critisim ya know

Welcome to HMT ;) Your setup looks good. By the way, what is the A/R for that turbo? I have a turbo that looks like yours. The inlet that bolts to the manifold has .65 stamped on the inside but there are no marking on the compressor side. On the outside of the compressor housing "HT18" is stamped on it.

I'd be rolling in the same thing if my classic wasn't rusted to hell. What'd you do with the TMIC? I've seen alot of people use those and turn them into FMIC's and they've worked out quite well being how big they are. Now don't go cracking that tranny case with that GTIR. Hey what ecu did you use or did you go and get raped with a JWT tuned ecu?Man I miss my classic and GTIR engine :'(. Nice job nevertheless ;D

i dont have alot of nice things to say about it,

im sure its fast, but you definatley took the rice approach with the tach, and the way you destroyed your bumper.

spend some money cleaning everything up and it will be nice!

i think it looks pretty good. Ive seen guys run 18psi on a stock ser motor with water injection, in any event that ---- was fast

pimpin ride man. GTi-R swap is the way to go on a SE-R. Doesnt look like an easy swap though. Get rid of the 2nd tach and you'll be straight

I'm also curious on what ECU you are going to run.. I cant imagne a Turbo with Individual Throttle bodies from the factory will be easy to tune, but I could be wrong.

I suppose the factory ecu is not using map? Does your engine have a vaccuum pump?

yea yea yea thats a skate board outa 2x4 lol its to move ----,.. update i got my suspension in today put it all together took it to my dads shop did a 2.5in turbo back exhaust,.. :mad: the 3in tubing we ordered was crushin to much so i was like 2.5 is good till i get a 3 in dp so the cars running smooth and were ready to go home i get home fine spinng tires like its going outa style not even trying she seems to be running smooth,... get home go to leave for a lil cruz on the highway and i blow a ps line in the street right infront of my house so its in the garage and im gonna see whats up with it in the am,... oh well overall a productive day,.. and the ecu is the stock gtir one,... id like to know how to clean it up some more and fir the bumper and where should i spend money to make it nice???

it was a fun time installing everything with ya jeff...learned a lot and definitly felt accomplished when i heard that baby fire for the first time.

its all fine tunning from here
