FIY and future reference, get a visa credit card for making online purchases, even if it's with paypal.. reason being is you can dispute bad deals through visa and they will pull the funds from the merchant, even if paypal denies your claim.. once paypal sees funds removed from that deal they will pull it from his account.. I guess it's possible for them to withdraw from your paypal account though if they decide you're at fault.

you can do the same thing when purchasing from retail merchants if you get an item not as described or not received. Visa has a really good buyer policy, I was told to do this years ago when I was screwed over on a deal using paypal.. i've heard a few stories where people order motors with visa and it comes with blown rings or whatever, and they end up getting a refund and the motor free :y

I use my debit card but make my transactions as credit for this reason. It has to go through Visa then they bill my bank. That way if I have a beef Visa deals with it and credit companies know how to collect.

Sounds a little to easy to call a card company and say you didnt get what you wanted. So you could order lets say a k20 swap. Say it had bad rings for example and you get a 5500 swap for free. Or perhaps a flat screen tv. Maybe a new laptop.

They do an "investigation" to see whats going on and then makes a conclusion at the end. The 2-3 times I've had to do disputes and call my credit card companies (either mastercard or visa) it was always decided in my favor in the end, but that was from non-shipping people via paypal when paypal wouldnt do squat to get my money back.

Thats a real world situation and seems like what card companies would do. They would need proof of shipment and delivery. besides that I cant see how they would just refund people because they didnt get what they wanted. If they did that everyone would just buy tings they cant afford claim it to be of a wortless value and keep everything for free

Only thing I can see a card company would do is a refund for under 100. Very similar to shipping companies claims. If an item via fedex or ups is lost/damaged they cut a check for a 100 dollars of the bat no proof needed except it was lost/damaged due to their error.

Calling and expecting card companies to give you free stuff sounds like a he said she said myth that hardly is in the realm of reality.
