1996 Del Sol

This local guy wants to sell me a 1996 Honda Del Sol s with the stock engine ( d16y7? ) turbo charged ( t-25 ) for $4500 he is dropping in a new engine with 42k miles on it. should i get it or not? would it be better to get a civic with a gsr motor and go from there or buy this beast

All depends on what u want to do, but if it was me i think i would go with a del. if i understood right it was turbo i think that would be my pick, dont get me wrong the civic with the GSR motor would be sweet too.

I dunno, I love my Sol. But it all depends on you man.

But go B-series if you can.

I wouldn't buy it. I'd have a hard time buying any Honda for that much(besides the obvious). :-\

If it has a turbo, it has been beaten. Also, I would never trust the mileage someone says is on a motor they are trying to sell you. They probably don't have a ------- clue as to what kind of miles are on the motor and they were probably lied to when they bought it. :-\

Re:1996 Del Sol

i dont know, i know i could swap out the heads on that d series and run with a sohc vtec motor and i guess that would be cool for a while. i think he only wants to put the turbo on the new motor because he wants to feel boost again ( he had no engine management on the first engine ) but i dont know ill try to convince him to take it off before selling it to me and keep it N/A. of course i will get the turbo anyways but still. i dont know i have alot to talk to this guy about.

Yeah Dr. Boost is right, you can never know how many miles are on a motor unless you built it or pulled in from the ORG. car. and 4 grand is alot for a honda, also think about this you could buy a Del. for cheap and build a turbo kit it maybe cheaper that way also, whatever thats just my input for you.
