1993 Integra GS-good deal?

A guy on my campus is selling a 93 integra gs w/ 160,xxx mi, rims, coilovers, racing seats, 4 pt. harnesses, new transmission, new clutch, new starter, new alternator, lightened flywheel, exhaust, cold air intake, and some other ---- for $3,000. If I bought it I would have to gut/repaint the interior (it is painted red), pull off the big stupid wing, and put stock tail lights back in it, I would leave the exhaust and CAI until it gets a turbo. Does this sound like a good deal? I'll try to bring him down to $2,600 if possible. I'm just looking for input.

I don't really care if the motor is trashed, it has 160,xxx mi on it, I'll turbo it, blow it and then rebuild it.

You can find good condition 94's for that price. I hate jumping into someone elses project, especially after they riced it out. :-\

That is the only thing holding me back. We can't find ---- for cars up here with an ok price. The only thing that I want from this kid's project that I would keep is the seats, other than that the car would go back to stock before I did anything to it.

How much is it going to cost to put it back to stock? :-\ How much other ---- is fucked up on the car? Did he do all the work? :-\ I hate jumping into ---- like that.

I'd offer him $2500 and not a penny more.

He still has the stock taillights that he would include, I would rip off the wing and fiberglass the holes myself, I would probably leave the rims on there that he has on there, I'd leave the coilovers, the interior is just time and effort, he used shitty red paint that is already chipping off so it is just an issue of getting all of it off instead of getting new interior panels. I would pull the 4 pt. harnesses out until I got 3 inch harnesses PROPERLY mounted. As it is right no I'm not just going to run out and buy the car, I'm just kinda shopping around for a project. Like I said we don't have ---- for cars for sale around here, so it is generally just jump on the first one that is a good deal. The car visually and mechanically is good (aside from the rice), all the work was done at a local shop here in town. I hate jumping into ---- like this too which is what is holding me back, honestly I'm looking for a del sol for under $2500, but this just caught my eye, it isn't really anything I'm seriously thinking about.

When you pick up someone else's project you know it's been beat. You can get better deals than that. Two weeks ago my friend picked up a 91 DA with 170K for $800 because it needed an alternator. Now that's a deal.
