1990 honda civic frame bent.
I have a 90 civic hatch,so for the past few months the car has gone through a few sets
of tires in the front. >:( Today I went to get a new st and a wwheel alignment done because I could see the FUCKEN wires on the outer edge of the tires. When I pay for work that was done the guy tells me they couldnt do the wheel alignment because frame is bent. :'( :'( :'( :'( Right when Iam going to start doing ---- to the car to make it look cool I find this out. Ive had the car for 3 years, that was three years of figuring wiring problems out, changing the motor, clutch jobs, getting ---- at pick and pull and now this. What should I do? Has eny one ever delt with a prob. like this? |
Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
lol. was it in an accident ever?
i would make it into a mean street machine with no interior that you only take out at night and then get a beater |
Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
could be the sub frame in the front, they bend easy or could be the unibody, subframe you replace, unibody you can get pulled buy a body shop. Are both left and right out side edges worn on the tires?

Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
usally too much toe in does that, its hard to have a "bent frame" on a unibody were both sides are out. Did you get a print out so I can see the numbers?

Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
wow thats bad :-X The left camber is too much soo the top ball joint is in too far, and the right caster is way out, the lower ball joint is too far back. I would take that print out to a body shop and ask them what they think, its definitly been in an aceident.

How much money goes into a job like this? Should I even keep the car? The chassie has about 200,000 thou. already on it. |
Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
Part of my job is to do wheel alighnments but I am not a body man. We have a contarct to inspect insurnce wright offs/ repairs for a body shop in town and they always need "pulled" I hook them up tell them its out how much and were and they fix it. Doesn't seam to be a huge deal but check with a body shop. Good luck little guy.

Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
There are shops that will pull the frame. Take it to a frame shop full of old hillbillies and ask them what to do. They may MAY be able to take a look and see what would need to be done. I had a frame pulled on a car caost me 600 but probably 350 was to R and R a control arm.

Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
cost me 600 hundred to get my frame pulled tho, but they threw in a new headlight, rad and axle. my car was fucked up bad.
|
Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
is that 600 cdn?
pretty good. My brother's mustang got hit from behind, the frame bent a little. They told him it would cost about 500 to fix, so it is fixable. OR get a shell and move everything to that new shell, including vins ;), and that's it. You could find a shell for less than 500, but it would be a bitch to swap everything over. |

:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( Iam so sooooo sooooooooo sad!!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'(

Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
get a quote on fixing the frame.
If its too much find a good used car w/ a blown motor no rust and swap it over. |
Re: 1990 honda civic frame bent.
I thought of that too....
But when I bought that car I didnt know ---- about cars and what to look for when buying a used car. Id rather look for some old lady that bought the car from the dealer ship and has never messed with anything on the car, such as alarms and sound system crap. I was going to get a quote today but iam feeling sick and it was raining over here. Ill go in a few days, and then get back to you guys and tell u what iam going to do. |

Man, you guys paid a lot.
I had the rear part of my frame on my CRX pulled for $160. Turns out it was also cracked so he welded it for no extra charge. Just take it to a body shop and they would be more than happy to take a look at it unless they're a bunch of assholes. |
