1984 honda civic 1500s
ok so i have a 3g civic that has a completely stock engine and i got a great deal on a turbo kit!!! i mean the dude is basically giving it away, hes got the turbo, intercooler, exhaust manifold, hoses, adapter plates, and a few other parts i dont know wat they r... im pretty sure everythings there, and apparently it is just bolt on bc it matches the year and model.
but wat i want to know is if this will blow my engine?? i was told by the seller that if i put on a boost controller and turn it down will it still ruin my engine?? also how difficuly is it to put all this into my engine bay and also wat parts will i need to complete this mod?? thanks in advance for ur replies |
Oh boy...
You need to do some research, grasshopper. BTW, I doubt anyone on here has turbo'd a civic prior to the 3rd gen. - at least not successfully. You said that the turbo kit "matches the year and model." What the hell does that mean? Do the parts of the kit have a year marked on them or something? Post some pics. |
I have a 3rd gen civic but not the stock engine it's a d16a1 fuel injection swap from a 86-89 integra that was built and turboed it on 10 psi boost. My build thread is here at HMT

i bet everything is not there...good luck turboing a carbd 3g, unless you got lucky enough to get a fuel injected model..it takes a ton of research....which you can find on the interwebs
not trying to be an ass, but i have a 1g crx...started out carb, but swapped the motor for an 89 d16a1 so it was easier to turbo and tune |
i swapped from dual point to multi point fuel injection for my rex when i was building it for turbo

I have plans for my brothers wrecked 81. The motor and trans is going to be used in a small sand rail and will be turbocharged and run on propane. But that project is still in the plan phase lol

if its an si model its mpfi already if not its the same as anyother swap and go to redpepperracing.com the love those things
