monster truck like ride height
not a bad Idea, but I would probably leave it looking stock. Whats its got V8 or strait 8? I cant remember if Chrysler had a strait 8, that maybe the GM flatheads Im thinking about.

Haven't had a chance to speak with the current owner or get under the hood, but I assume it has the Chrysler slant 6 and an auto trans. Might just go rat rod with it and see what I can get out of the six. Someone has to have gotten one to go fast at some point. Car is in really nice shape on the outside, looks like the guy just didn't have the time or $$ to put paint over the primer.

Re: 1940 Chrysler Coupe
If I had the $$$, there are a lot of engine/trans choices. But very tight budget if I get this thing. Chrysler's "big blocks" were the 440/6, 426 and the 426 Hemi. Both are out the *** expensive, and a 392 Hemi is also out, as they are about as pricey as the later 426 hemi's motor. If I were to stick with Mopar, a 360 or 383 would be nice, but a 318ci v8 is much more likely, however lame that sounds
