i remember a friend tell me after watching one of his runs, that the other racer staged late, and brent blew his clutch to all hell off the line, sense he was staging for so long..

i don't even want to think of his budget. crazy for sure

You can do anything if you dump enough money into the pig. *cough* GM *cough* Ecotec

Still a cool car, but it makes me titter like a schoolgirl that they threw away the Mitsu AWD drivetrain.

I got to meet Brent Rau once. Best way to describe him is 'recovering coke-head.'

holy crap! 1400HP?

so it only took them ~23 years to make the kind of power/rpm F1 cars were making out of 1.5L 4bangers (and for some reason, 3 series blocks with about 60k on the clock tended to be the strongest) back in the mid 80's, with far less sophisticated engine management, less efficient turbos, less exotic fuels, etc.

i've always wondered why people pay more attention to magazines when building cars than to what the F1 and IMSA/GTPchampcar engineers were doing in their cars back in the day. they did some pretty crazy things with those engines, and somehow still made some of them last for 24 hours hitting 250mph down the mulsanne at lemans.. for instance, do some research on what the megatronF1 used instead of a blowoff valve, or how champcar engineers kept intake temps down without the use of intercoolers...

More boost>Nos. John Shepard's transmission and transfer case isnt anything that resembles stock, he has CNC machine at his whim. Full interior doesnt mean full weight.
