100' holeshot drags, waterford connecticut

I took the rolla to the 100' drag races this last week end. They were doing the holeshot drag races at waterford speedbowl in connecticut. The escort isn't done so i took the corolla.I had a blast and there were few cars quicker. They were running classes like 3.5 seconds or slower,3.0 or slower,2.5 or slower and 2.0 or slower.Nobody ran quicker than 2.0 and only 2 cars were in the 2.0 class. Both were AWD,a sti and a evo.I made it into the 2.5 class but red lighted. It was confusing because the track was not 100' it was more like 90 and they were extrapolating the 100' time.my best run was a 2.759 and my friends 74 rx3 ran a 2.715(all motor 1.3L no turbo or nox) but forgot he had no RPM limit pill in the MSD and over revved it to 12,600 and it ate a apex seal.He launches better because he has a ford 9" with 588(yes i said 588 gears). They are going to run this event every 3rd sunday so if anybody wants to go let me know when and i will go too.

Sounds like a fun way to spend some time at the track, and work on your 60' time.

---- thats a 1st gear race. only slow cars are good at that.
my ---- don't get traction in 1st or 2nd gear. that's why i don't want to go to my local 1/8th mile races

I thought it would be a joke but 4 of the guys i work with were going so i went.It ended up being a good time and a lot of fun! I am sure a lot of cars on here are faster than mine but my car isn't slow. There were some FWD hondas there that didn't do well,a lot of wheel spin and poor times. The car i took was a 80 corolla so I did well, next month i think i will try bigger tires and some more boost.

I am sure i will go next time. It is the 3rd sunday of the month in waterford.I think you are in new haven so you go 95N to 395N and take the 1st exit(i think it is exit 77).Take a left and waterford speedbowl is on the left.My corolla isn't as nice as yours but it goes ok. Your car is SWEET!!!
