Thats not bad. Some of you guys cant help being dicks ::). Thats pretty decent if you ask me :-\. Congratulations!!

Wages vary from state to state(duh! :P). In Cali I was a forman in the Union making $31.50 on my check. The union here pays $19.50 for the same position. I started 4 months ago as a journeyman for a non union shop making $19/ph and now I'm estimating and I just got a $2p/h raise on monday. The upside is that its cheaper to live here. I'm happy :y

for sure, i wasn't meaning to be like "you suck, get a life". just pointing out that there is more money to be made if you shop around.

congrats on the raise, none the less.

Re: 1 year anniversary @ my job today...

I am at about 2.5 years. I started at $10 as a 'I just need a job' sort of thing doing fab work building parts at Warrior. Laid off after a month, came back two weeks later at $13.15 (not a bad 3 month raise).

At 1 year I went to $15.50. 2 years went to $16.25 and 4 months later I am now at $16.75.

Doing pretty good, started as entry production work, eventually worked up into the more complicated jobs, and then at the beginning of my 2 year took on the project of running rjroffroad.com as the IT Director and thats still a work in progress, as I am also officially Lead Trainer on the production floor.

Re: 1 year anniversary @ my job today...

Started my career at $10 an hour drafting....5 years and a couple of moves later I'm at $25 an hour, $37.50 anything over 40 a week. Needless to say I work 45+ hours a week.

2 years of college, got an AS degree. I probably will never be stupid rich, but I should be okay.....

Congrats on the raise. It always makes you feel good, when you get that compensation for your work. Remember there's always someone that makes more money than you, so just be happy with what you make.

davcivic - I'm a drafter too with an AS in Architecture, and am only getting $14/hr at the moment pulling a little over $400 a week. Needless to say, this is my second job in the field. Firist Architect was a cheap mofo and only gave me $8/hr. That's a shame huh? So I dropped him like nothing when I got this one. If you don't mind, tell me how you got up to the mid $20's? What was your techniques? Job hoppin'?

Yeah my first job was at $10/hr another cheap bastard......The thing is being smart of what you do, and making sure you stay on top of things and do more than the usual. Have that ambition and drive do do a little more. Architecture is harder because there's so many people that think drafting is just architecture and that's what they do. I am an engineering/Surveying draftperson. There's not many. My company has been hiring since I started, people either don't have the experience or don't want to learn surveying. That's how I made it. I jumped three jobs to get where I am now.
