Hi I am thinking of buying a ford xr6 turbo ute and was wondering what I should be looking out for, and I'm also not to sure what a good price to buy would be

Search car websites for prices and when you find one thats in your price range get an independent inspection on it. No one can help you here, its all up to you. You have to do your homework.

being that members of this site are based primarily in the US, i'd say your looking in the wrong place

get a 6 speed, whether it be auto or manual, get a 6 speed. 4 speed autos and 5 speed manuals are both susceptible to falling apart with anything more than stock power (hell, even with stock power levels)

get a BF series 2 if possible, they had the typhoon bottom end and dont throw rods like the earlier models do if you wind them up
