snapped just a few pics of the newest toy today. basically i came across this car while being a gt2871 turbo and an intercooler away from a nasty d series build, but quickly sold 90% of it to get this ol girl. :y enough chat, more pics

now for some of the bad.... :-\

Picked her up at a very very reasonable price, well knowing what work needs done. got about $1100 more to play with to get some interior pieces, and get a few miscellaneous things for her to get her to pass emissions, then she will sit, and be rebuilt over time. :y almost a restoration.

SWEET ride.....doesnt look to be in that bad of shape at all. If you ditch the wings, dont loose or get rid of them, the car is worth more with them. If you doubt that.....my uncle just paid a fortune for some old 60s shelby spoilers (like in the 1k+ range)

they were, and still continue to be a pretty limited production. in 1989 only 895 were built. as far as the engine goes, nothing to fancy, just a 5.0, pulled 2-3 cars on another lightly modded, (IHE) 91 5.0 by the top of 3rd.

word, the body and interior are staying as factory as possible. the only noticeable exterior mods will maybe be some wheels (ignore the gt wheels i have the original saleen wheels that need tires), and maybe a different exhaust setup :y

body and interior stay stock. suspension will be completely redone, with some factory, mostly aftermarket parts. engine will stay a 5.0, hopefully the one in there, but ill do a decent build, a cam, new heads, new intake mani, maybe a bump in compression, then a direct port nitrous setup. transmission is still up in the air, still have tons of reading to do, see what roads have been traveled, and implement what is proven to work. :)

and out of that

549 were hatchbacks
165 were Convertible
20 were hardtop coupes
161 were ssc's what ever that means

witch gives you your total 895

i'm pretty sure they were spec'ed at 292 hp and ran a 14.1 stock. (that is the info i'm gathering)

Thats a pretty mean car. How is it mechanically? At first I thought it had some ghetto ramair setup on it. lol. I say you cut the top off and bump some Vanilla Ice.
Rollin' in my 5.0
With my rag-top down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby waving just to say hi
Did you stop no I just drove by
Kept on pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and I'm heading to the next block
The block was dead
Yo so I continued to A1A Beachfront Avenue
Girls were hot wearing less than bikinis
Rockman lovers driving Lamborghinis
Jealous 'cause I'm out getting mine
Shay with a guage and Vanilla with a nine
Reading for the chumps on the wall
The chumps acting ill because they're so full of eight balls
Gunshots rang out like a bell
I grabbed my nine all I heard were shells
Falling on the concrete real fast
Jumped in my car slammed on the gas
Bumpet to bumper the avenue's packed
I'm trying to get away before the jackers jack
Police on the scene you know what I mean
They passed me up confronted all the dope fiends
If there was a problem yo I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it

My older brother had an '89 convertible, I don't think it was a true saleen though even though it had the ground effects. Had that stupid AOD trans in there and was white with a red interior :3

ugly car and not that fast. Just one of 7 5.0's my siblings have owned though.

I wonder if the Saleen model has a better option for loading a 3wheeler in the back? hahah

Sweet car man, I'm not the biggest fan of foxbodys but thats pretty good looking.

damn looks like you could get 2 three wheelers in the back of that bad boy.

not really a fan of those, dont like the wing or the body moldings and bumpers

but its cool

eh, sold the sleeved y8, the y8 head, lots of parts for it to get the saleen. sure a fast civic is fun, but there are thousands of fast ass civics. and there is no substitution for the v8 rumble. she will be around though as a daily driver, thinking about going back to factory exhaust, to get rid of the annoying buzz.

no 3 wheelers in the back of this one :P id have preferred a 94-98 style, but there is no way in hell id find a 94-98 saleen for what i got this for.

i like the front fascia a lot, the side skirts are very bulky to say the least, the spoiler is huge, but I imagine it has to serve some kind of purpose. The rear is ok Either way, the civic would have been a ton of fun, but oh well :P
