00 jeep wrangler 4.0. help

I bought a turbo and manifold from a friends friend to go on me 2000 jeep wrangler 4.0 (pic below) its a garrett t3 out of a nissan 300z, and the manifold he built to fit his jeep (same year make and model as mine) i got my hands on a intercooler from a subie STI that i plan on top mounting. my question is, do i need to change my injectors? and do i need to have my computer tuned/re-flashed? ive read on HMT posts that people have added a turbo to their jeeps without changing these things but, a couple people i have talked to here locally tell me that i need 42lb injectors,a 2 bar map sensor, and a tuner.cost of about $600!!. stock injectors are 22.5lbs so 42lbs just seems a bit much. i am capable of fabricating anything i need but when it comes to engine management im lost. please shoot me your opinion. thanks

Almost every car out there you need a tuner of some sort and new injectors. Stock injectors most of the time are almost maxed out to begin with add some extra air and they have no where to go. I am not very familiar with jeeps but I do know that you can set up Megasquirt on one pretty cheap somewhere in the $300 range if you are able to build it yourself and do some wiring and a set of injectors will set you back about $100 for the small ones you are looking for. I would say if you only wanna run around 4-5 psi. Get an safc, injectors, and a wide band and go to town. It is still a band aid but will keep you from blowing up your engine. Then you can work on getting real engine management. You will want a wide band regardless to make sure nothing bad happens and to keep and eye on air fuel ratios.
