I was ------- around the other day coming home from Tacoma, North on the express lanes through Seattle when a little 325i passed me at about a buck ten and kinda waved me to come along. I dropped into 3rd at 80something and he had some ground on me. Nobody was really in sight so I ran 'er up over 140 and got just in front of his before I slowed down (just enough for that really good owned feeling) and started to feel a pretty good vibration. I thought, "oh ----, that damn bad cv joint got really hot or something and is ------- up". If I slowed down, it got really bad, like the wheel was jerking and stuff. I said ---- it, if I make it, I make it and drove the rest of the 100 miles to Bellingham. I parked the car cuz it was really shitty at low speed, ordered in the new axle and called it a day. When I went to change the ******, I looked at my tire. Hopefully LeeD will host a picture of this ------- thing. It looks like someone left a beer can in the mold when they made the tire. Now, all I can think is that I will never go that fast again. Blowing a tire at 140+ would really ruin my day. Dave, I'll see you tomorrow. Maybe some 235/55-16 Firehawks this time? Serious rubber.

what kind of tires did you have? I hope they were Z-rated or V-rated or something like 'em

No, they just looked like performance tires. Some ol' H-rated (119 or below) upon closer inspection. I think I will pay more attention next time.

yeah losing control at 115 and flipping a lot will ruin your day. ill tell you that ---- hurts the next day. but good thing i walked away from it

I had some friends that rolled an accord at 110 on the freeway. None of them were wearing their seatbelt and all of them got out with only bruises.

Now how do some undeserving people like these guys get out scot free (I'm pretty sure they were all stoned, they always were) and yet some innocent people get in minor wrecks and get all messed up or die?

I should show you a slow motion vid of what a T-rated tire looks like at 130mph. Its not round, thats for sure.

you wouldn't think the rating on tires make much of a diff., but they do. i took some cheapey 14" tires up to 120 for a few minutes on the interstate once, and they were focked! ever since then, i took rubber a little more seriously
