Re: *OFFICIAL* Z06 ***** on GTR
??
then how did car and driver run a 116 1/4?
you really think Nissan would sell cars in the US with a 115 Speed limiter and expect to compete with other manufacturers??
The US/ NA Spec cars have No 115Mph speed limiter , that is Japanese spec cars and it ties into the GPS so that it is unlocked while on a track IN JAPAN
I ran a 112 Pass in a C5 auto convert and the old man ran a 117 Pass in C2s with light mods
GTR is not the hype it was advertised to be.

In Japan the GT-R has a speed limiter set at 180KM(111mph) and automatically releases when you enter a domestic circuit. The GPS communicates to the ECU to cut the limiter.
Our sources say that the US version has a limiter set at 250KM(156mph) but there is no GPS communication to the ECU to cut the limiter. This means anyone who wants to go faster must crack the ECU.
Nissan has been extremely cautious about any kind of modification to the GT-R including the ECU. Nissan technicians have encrypted the ECU ever more than any car they have produced. It is said that only a handful of people in this world can crack the ECU of the GT-R.

Re: *OFFICIAL* Z06 ***** on GTR
its well documented that the GTR did "cheat" at the ring
they lightened the car, re-tuned it, and ran special tires.
some people say they did the same thing with the zr1 but i don't know if its true or not
the GTR is pure hype like it always has been, and i called it over a year ago. how does a car that is heavy and has less power beat a light car with more power?
IT DOESN'T

Alrighty folks. Here it is. The General has released the in-car footage of the Corvette ZR-1 lapping the Nurburgring in 7:26.4, hitting 180 mph at one point on the 12.9-mile course and beating out the Z06's time, set in 2005 by Jan Magnussen by almost 17 seconds. Jim Mero is behind the wheel and just as a reminder; the lap was done on the same Michelin Pilot Sport 2s as the production model, and retains the same ride height, engine calibrations and emissions equipment, along with running pump gas.
