***Vid. of our racing season from '05....Pray for Bandwidth***

Hey guy's, just to start off with I'm no noob here. I've actually been hangin around HMT since about a year after it began, just been too lazy to start up my own SN. I've just got finished with a vid from our '03-'05 racing season and threw it all together. It's pretty big so hopefully you'r not on Dial-up. You'll realize the cars in the vid are "Shanerv's Civic(my bro-inlaw) and Accordepicenter's Lx-i. Feel free to post up any and all comments about what you think of the racing as well as my first attempt to make a vid. As I said, pray for Bandwidth and enjoy...... It turn'd out pretty good

Cool vid, but expected more cars ;). That high comp. car goes pretty good. And the lx-i flyby rips ass as usual. Both of you need to spend a few bucks on some god damn tires

Yeah, well we were gonna throw my car in there too but at the last second I decided not to... I'm actually the one who had the civic that burn't up last spring that shane posted up about. Hey, Accordepicenter/Jay's wastegate actuator that you sold him work'd awesome. Props too on the fast delivery. We're all workin on buying some slicks for next year

Hang in there bro, should only be about 8 more mins... lol

I've gotten a Turbo coupe since the fire too and wanted to put that in there but again, at already almost 80MB's throwing my car in there would have made it huge. We'll come out with another vid after this summer as well again. Jay's Lx-i definately Hauls Ball's and Shane's ls/VTak is starting to get rippin as well. Again, let me know what you think of the footage as well as the editing job...

That's also proof for those out there that thought accordepicenter didn't really beat an M3.... Zzing!!

210 kbs for the vid, 45 kbs misc torrents, light duty web smurfing.

I'm not bitching, it's stolen wireless. 200 mW PCMCIA card + 12 db omni + 20 ft low loss coax = win.

shanerv 12-20-2005 06:19 PM

Re: ***Vid. of our racing season from '05....Pray for Bandwidth***

free wireless rocks I have the same deal. only it is built into my laptop. and dang you guys are getting some awesome dl speeds. adelphia cable? or what.

Tom-Guy 12-21-2005 11:26 AM

Re: ***Vid. of our racing season from '05....Pray for Bandwidth***

Built into the laptop is at best sub-40 mW which is teh sux and not worth talking about. STFU!!!11 I steal more wireless than you, you are not worthy.

And the turbo Accord is teh win!

how do I find out what I have and what does sub 40-mv?

Tom-Guy 12-23-2005 12:09 AM

Re: ***Vid. of our racing season from '05....Pray for Bandwidth***

milli-Watts. It's power rating, in this case used to express broadcast power dropped across your antenna. Broadcast power can also be expressed as db aka decibels. Don't be thrown off, as decibels are a logarythmic scale... ie 10 db is a LOT more than twice as strong as 5 db.

Tell me your exact model number laptop and I can probably tell you what you have with a quick netsearch.

Re: ***Vid. of our racing season from '05....Pray for Bandwidth***

they get an ok connection via wireless... however when im over there i cant seem to get that great of a signal at all (pcmcia linksys 802.11G card on IBM T20/Win 2k) i wonder if that card just sucks?

Tom-Guy 12-27-2005 02:09 AM

Re: ***Vid. of our racing season from '05....Pray for Bandwidth***

Well, nothing carved in stone, but this is an HP laptop thread that mentions zv5000, and internal FCC-approved cards vs 200 mW ones like mine that are apparently illegal (lol):

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=20112

30-40 mW is the MAX you guys are dealing with. Most off the shelf cards are going to suck, yes.

A *good* antenna with a proper ground plane will help noticeably. Most built-in wireless setups have no external antenna provision.

A *good* Senao 200 mW (can be tweaked to 250 mW!) PCMCIA card is $70 shipped, has external antenna provisions. Amazon.com should hook it up.

Fleeman, Anderson, and Bird (www.fab-corp.com or something similar) sell good quality merchandise at reasonable prices. Keep in mind discount eGay chinese stuff is low grade, the antennas are not properly constructed, unless from a reputable manufacturer, and then they are only slightly discounted from online sales.
