They didn't really give a ratio. They just said to thin it until it is just slightly thicker then water. Thin enough to self level, but not drip. I need to find out where to get a can of that paint!!

:) cheap paint jobs rock. He mentioned using the Duplicolor stuff by the gallon. Same stuff I used on my car.

I'd like to try this but I don't have anything to paint. Maybe I'll test it out on a spare fender and see what happens. Perhaps paint someone's car over the summer if they have the balls.

Damn it looks like that Tremclad ---- is only available in Canada. The border is a 4 hour drive away, hmmmm.... Sounds like some people are trying to do this with the Professional Series Rustoleum. I need a new paint job bad, I'm going to follow this ---- to see how it works out!

If you read the thread on the other site it says that it's rustoleum over here. 8)

Re: $50 paint job--tremclad

I've been reading for the past couple hours now. Rustoleum and Tremco are 2 companies, both owned by ANOTHER company. There seems to still be some differences betweetn Rustoleum and Tremclad products. But I've been digging, and they had someone say the rustoleum STOP RUST line is deng near the same as Tremclad. And the guy who painted the charger said his tremclad came in a base tint product that they could tint to different colors. So after digging, I'm thinking this...
http://www.rustoleum.com/product.asp...t_id=431&SBL=2
is pretty much the US equivalent to Tremclad. It's the Alkyl (sp?) Enamel that Tremclad is, high gloss, and also references it to be formerly called STOP RUST. I think this is probably the stuff and I'm going to get me some and see how it goes! Now I just need to figure out what exactly this "Professional Roller" thing he used is. I'm sure I'll find it!

Theyre at wal-mart, everything you need can be bought there. I coulda swore on one of those threads he gave the link to the rustoleum and said thats what people over here'd have to buy.

Ju-on you need to read the whole post the rustoleom and tremclad turn out to be very diffrent and no where near the same theres a post explaining this towards the end the only real way to do it would be to get your hands on some tremclad the guy using the rustoleum ends up peeling off with his fingernail very easily so it doesnt stick as well
