So, I've been doing good with music, photoshop, flight simulator etc... and the one thing I really want is NHRA (Quarter Mile Showdown) for PC. The couple files that I've found have few seeders, and then I got it from some file share bullshit and I can't figure out how to convert the file to run as the game. Yes, I'm fairly new to torrents and all that garb.

$10 for the first snigglet that walks me through and makes me a top fuel champion.

So after fiddling with aim (cause I've never used it before) for 0239029320 minutes, i got it to work and it said you weren't on.

Maybe it's better. It's late and I should sleep at some point. I erased all the files that I couldn't get to work, so having a good download would be a good start. I'll try to get back to this tomarrow sometime.

If you have like a million rar files you need to download winrar
Its free on download.com
Once you install it unrar the first file in the whole bunch usually ends in .rar or .r01
If it isnt rar bs and you still have trouble then you just suck the penis

I googled quarter mile showdown torrent and went through 2 pages trying to find a good download. The best I found was a torrent with 2 seeds :-\ and a download from rapidshare, which is the last way I downloaded it, and was teh fail at converting it.

I've been using utorrent ever since Imburne walked me through it. That was on my old computer and now I have a new one, so I'll want to talk to you about settings and all to make sure I'm in the clear. I also checked out that peerguardian that you listed in your thread, but it's not supported by vista, which is what I have now.

What I'm left with is 20 winrar archive files, one sfv file, and one called system information.

Open up one of the winrar files, then unrar everything you see in winrar into a new folder. Install from there.

Ok, jago walked me through it, but it just won't work.

winrar extract gave me two vlc files, one .cue and one .bin
downloaded nero and burnt the .cue file to disk
autorun started the install, everything is good. Accept agreement, blah blah.
Just before it finishes, it says the install wizard was interupted before completely installing the game, and told me to try again in the future.

Ran the avg virus scan, reboot, and tried it again. Same ----. WTF??

Ok, so of all the nero downloads I saw with trojans, I downloaded one with no comments, and it has a virus. The virus thing periodically pops up and allows me to "remove virus as power user" (vista), but when I try to remove the program files of nero it won't let me.


God damn it all to hell. :7

Boooo. make sure you deleted whatever bad juju you got out of the download folder on C:

on the first download you said you got a folder full of winrars? odd try opening the nfo (system info) file with notepad by right clicking and choosing open with. its usually the read me.

I've never got a virus from a torrent from the terabytes of ---- I've downloaded. That sucks.

I got fed up trying to track down the virus and just re-installed vista. All the things I really need are on the external, so I just did that and now I'm playing around getting the settings right again.

bin2iso is your best friend.

also, you dont realy need to burn it. just convert it to iso, and then extract it with winrar and run the installer.

Well, I did burn it, but I'm over that now. I just got vista back up and running clean.
