I'd like to see this dyno sheet. How much power can you possibly get out of UTR pistons and cams?

Sorry, I just don't see the point in trying spending ~$300 on a ~120whp N/A motor. :1 I bet that motor would run perfecty fine on a 100% stock map with no tuning.

Rob Deal's ITR with boltons laid 191whp... Off of a GSR basemap with 5% more fuel and bumped revlimit. NA cars only need tuning if they have REAL cams and CR, or if the guy building the car has something screwed up that a tuner can tune around.

not sure about ITR pistons and cams but when you bump the compression up and actually get bigger cams you need tuning if you want it to run good. here is a dyno sheet with a mild build that made nice numbers after tuning.

81.25 pr3 pistons
stock rods, stock crank
portflow head, blox type b cams
anr street header
255 lph fuel pump, 310 injectors

block built by Redzone Performance

216.2whp 139.4wtq
12.7 @106 @sacramento raceway
2100lb car with 200lb driver

and another

b18c1 block and p72 head
ported by portflow
portflow springs/retainers
stock GSR valves
skunk2 stg2 cams
ITR intake mani (stock, not portmatched)
gsr throttle body
81.25 JDM ITR pistons
stock ITR rods with ARP bolts
ACL bearings
SMSP header
ib spec velocity stack

215 hp 145 trq

Wow, Jeff, 11 dyno pulls to get 10 whp and 6 wtq. Impressive.

You realise that the cost of half that ****** NA setup would build a 300+ whp D16 with OBX LSD? Raising boost 1 psi on your second pull, with ignition timing too retarded and AFRs too rich, would manifest as more than 10 whp and 6 wtq.

edit: the second chart where they took 11 extra pulls to make no extra power is the perfect example of spending money to get jack ---- results, aka small displacement NA cars.

Learn to read.

216-206 = 10 whp, mostly due to a power fluctuation when pushing in the clutch pedal at redline. Pathetic.

212.27-213.70 = -1.43 whp, but due to heatsoak is probably more like a 2-3 whp gain.

Neither of these setups are particularly impressive.

take your own advice......the second map you mentioned not gaining any power picked up TONS at the vtec cross over and the first map made more power just about everywhere as well as fixing a ---- up in the timing map@ 8200ish

but of course those aren't peak numbers so they dont matter right?

i agree that neither setups are very impressive was just posting up to prove a point that a mildly built motor makes way more then 120hp. 10 HP is quit a bit to gain on an NA car where you can't just add 1 more psi of boost.

If I find the peak numbers unimpressive, I assure you that I find the less than peak number less than less than impressive.

Fuckstick, do you know who I am, and have you at any point paid the single lick of attention to what I espouse? I am not a Full-Rice nutswinging peak-volumetric efficiency ******. The CRX we took to Pinks and finished third with makes 411 peak with an average power of over 400 for the usable powerband of 6500-9500 rpms. None of that ****** 700 whp peak 125 whp average for the last 3000 rpms of the operating range Honda-Tech ----... you know, the sort of Honda-Tech ---- that has you all JDM hopped up on a 10 whp power gain from tuning, on a setup running a $900-1200 header.

This is Homemade---------Turbo, since you aren't paying attention.
