With those cams, I think it would be well worth spending the money to get the ECU dialed in. Any well thought out base map will get the fueling close enough to make good power WOT, but who knows what part throttle driveability and MPG will be like. With cam gears adjusted to where they want to be, ect... your engine is going to want much diff. fuel curves part throttle than any 'stock' modified base map. Sure it will drive, but it wont be 'clean'.

$100 for street, and $100 for dyno is a excellent rate BTW.

Id just make sure you've got all the parts that you planned on using, ON the engine, before you get it done.

"Why should I care about tuning my part throttle maps? That's what closed loop is for."

Dick's still running around 3 ms injector time for the majority of his NA mappings, FWIW.

telling someone not to get tuned because it's all motor is about the worse advice i've ever read on this site. the last motor i built for a friend came into the dyno making good power for what it was, and still picked up 10whp off of fuel/timing changes, stock gears. just having the peace of mind knowing that your motor is running well should justify the money spent on the tune.

LMAO, you would probly be suprised what a built NA motor will put to the wheels
