i havnt heard much about anyone turbo charging a ZC in a while,.. is it worth it?,... to me just seems like and LS turbo,... but 1.6 litre,.. i just got a zc the other day and want to turbo it,... or should i just spray a 55-75 shot on it? thnx

 

im sure its worth it. i havent turbo charged a zc before but i would imagine it would be fun. i believe it has higher compression than any other d series motor and rods are a bit bigger. boost that biatch :P

 

Boost would be alot more fun and you don't need to refill it.....I guess you refill it by stomping on the pedal. :P

 

turbo it...I turboed 2 of them the old school one from the 1st gen CRX and the ones fom the newer 91+ EDM CRX's.

at the dyno day a kid made 170whp with 7psi on a 14b. if you got a t3 of some kind you could make close to 200

 

we are boosting at 5 psi... i can peel 1st 2nd and 3rd, and am a fraid to floor it, now i need bigger breaks to stop the beast.

it's on an 89 zc with 87 electronics, we are running an fmu with msd btm.
turbo edit is on the way with the 89 electronics.
the car is fast, defenetly a pocket rocket.




super fast. definatly worth it.

Im about to re-turbo my dohc zc. Its definately fun. Turbo it.

 

i just got done turboing my dohc zc in my hf rex, it pulls pretty hard at 8 pounds with a 14b, its untuned too im running dsm 450s with just a base map, its feels to be about a high 13 second car with traction witch i have yet to see. in my opinion its totaly worth it, my kit cost me about 450 bucks total, i got some good deals

 

DO it, I have been driving one for 6 month and It's great seeing peoples faces when you chase down Chevelles and Rustangs from 2 car lengths back at the track.

KIT? You mean Greddy or something like that? NO WAY, Build your own, Fun can be had VERY cheaply if you want!!

I was at 14.5 running REALLY rich with no traction in 1st, 2nd, sometime 3rd, SHITTY camber and bad tires!

Now I have slicks, 10psi(instead of AFR's running decent and better camber for next season.
