your opinion: LS or B16 tranny?
turbo LSVTEC ~350whp (soon)...
would like opinions from people that have had both before. would like to put the B16 tranny in but im afraid that the gearing will be to short and just smoke tire. ??? |
Re:your opinion: LS or B16 tranny?
use the ls tranny because the b16 is too short of gearing to match up with the power of an ls/vtec turbo engine.
just my opinion |
Re:your opinion: LS or B16 tranny?
i've had both and i think you'll be happier with the ls for that set up

I say go with the B16. If you have traction problems get a quaife LSD, traction bars, drag tires, solid motor mounts, etc... Maybe get one of those shifter nob buttons like Jeff had on his b20/vtec turbo so you can run low boost in 1st and 2nd gear then full boost in 3rd gear and up.

oh yeah this is a 'daily driver' too. and thats the main reason for the question. guess i will get some nice tire smoke either way. not tooo concerned with freeway RPMs cuz i dont really drive too far on the freeway (20 miles usually at most)... |
