Re:Your guys opinions...

hotrex 01-26-2004 02:20 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

Re:Your guys opinions...

Think thats too much turbo for a stock B16 at 10psi? Eventually i will build it im sure but for now im goin to run stock internals.

no, that's a perfect turbo for a b16, it should spool up pretty nice and make power way beyond redline. but, that's not a true super 60, i think that is a t3 off of an svo mustang, but still a very good turbo and a pretty good price too.

Re:Your guys opinions...

I got that same turbo from the same guy mine has a different compressor cover, noice! fast shipping also, I love dont know how it runs yet.

Re:Your guys opinions...

How is it not a true Super 60? What makes a Super 60? And what was diff about the one you bought, rudebwoy?

Re:Your guys opinions...

super 60 has a different wheel with a bigger inducer...as far as i know

90 SiR Hatchie 01-26-2004 03:21 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

basically every thing on the cold side is 60 on this turbo and the hot is .48 (not sure on wheel size for hot) what would the numbers be for a real super 60? Juss curious.

Re:Your guys opinions...

well i think all factory super 60's came with the 63 exhaust a/r...but i think the real difference is the comp wheel. its still a 60 trim, but i know the inducer is bigger, im not sure what else is different

90 SiR Hatchie 01-26-2004 03:28 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

Ahhh i see... But that ebay model will still boost high if needed? BTW thats one boooooo "T" full turbo..

RENR 01-26-2004 03:31 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

the one on ebay will be fine...

projekteg 01-26-2004 03:32 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

yeah, the .48/.60 t3 is still a very nice turbo, and will give you more boost than a stock or lightly built engine could handle if you asked it politely ;D

90 SiR Hatchie 01-26-2004 03:36 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

Ok this should be my last Q about it, When on a B16 do you think (if everything is working properly) it will start boost and reach full boost? And btw thanks to everyone on this site for making things easier on us turbo retarded people. its really appreciated.

projekteg 01-26-2004 03:40 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

it's really hard to say (each set up is different) depending on what oil your using, what size exhaust, what style manifold, there are so many variables, but you should reach full boost "around" 3500 probably (give or take a little).

Re:Your guys opinions...

After reading that i don't know about it now?? its seems to be about 50/50 on good or bad. I know that its not a true Super60 but its close. So what you guys think i should go ahead and get one from him and hope for the best?

beerbongskickass 01-26-2004 10:44 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

They are not super 60's... I emailed him and asked before I bought the thing and he told me straight out it's not. Like Sonny said in that HT post the super 60 doesn't flow that much more anyways. $300 for a remanufactured T3 60 trim turbo is still pretty good if you ask me.

RENR 01-26-2004 10:49 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

the only difference in the one you show and the one I got is the cover, I have a bored out nissan compressor cover, instead of using a flange on the inlet and outlet, I use hose couplers, same 48turbine 60compressor more an hybrid version, so why are t3/t4 better if they have the same ratio?

what do you mean 50/50? everyone said to get it. just b/c it's not a true super 60, it's about the closest thing to it, and i told you, it is more than enough for what you are looking for, and yeah, not a bad price either, so yeah, you should get it.......... THE END ;)

Re:Your guys opinions...

You can't compare a T3 ratio to an T4 ratio.
The T4 wheel is just bigger and a T4E compressor with a AR of .50 is huge I've seen one in real life and that thing swollows the T3 compressor with AR .60

90 SiR Hatchie 01-27-2004 10:03 AM

Re:Your guys opinions...

Ok im gettin it :)

Re:Your guys opinions...

the guy on ebay is a good seller and ships fast! beautiful turbo's might i add for the hella good price!!! for a b16, i would get the T3/T4 that he's also selling. that will be way better than a 60/48 T3. some people here use those on their sohc's so i always say for a b-series you need a "real" super 60 T3 or a t3/t4! period!

90 SiR Hatchie 01-27-2004 12:47 PM

Re:Your guys opinions...

wouldnt a t3/4 be too laggy on stock internals and low boost?

call me stupid, but thats one thing I will never understand, 60 is a higher # than 50 so why is a t4 50 wheel is bigger than a t3 60 wheel? or compressor

Re:Your guys opinions...

I'm selling a SVO 60-trim .60/.63 with 1000miles on it. It was rebuilt BY GARRETT and still has the "garrett rebuid" tag on it. No housing cracks, no abnormal shaft play.

$195 shipped.

I bought it for $200 and I was going to put it on my low compression SOHC, but its just too damn big for my car.

No matter where you get it from a T3 60-trim is that mack daddy turbo for a B16. I just happen to believe that a .63 exhuast housing is MUCH better for the B16 since it revs so high and REALLY needs to breath. I shift my SOHC at 6800rpms, its just too damn bigg for me... But I do need a $200 clutch so selling the turbo just makes sense...
