Your first turbo project......
We all know we see numorous turbo prjects being shown on here. But there is really never any followup on how well they run/pull. post some specs of your first setup and how it turned out. Links to turbo projects would be sweet to. Thanks

had to search for a minute but.. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=58619.0
beside the wierd cold idle bounce, my ---- ran great for 3-4 months, then i took it all out on the hottest day of the year cause i was bored, sold the car, traded the turbo kit (with install help) for this mess Attachment 31039 which i got bored of and am about to HMT while i continue the search for my next car |
Re: Your first turbo project......
Finished my project around late july this summer, had its kinks in the beginning but after I got the tune down I put the ecu away and havent had to mess with anything on the car yet. I beat the living hell out of it every day, until I put it away for winter a coupple weeks ago. Before I put it away I did a few big pulls through 5th gear thinking it would let loose, but it all held together.

Re: Your first turbo project......
i lost all of my pics of my first setup to the big HMT crash of 06....heres the setup though:
b18 stock daily driver cast manifold turbonetics evolution wastegate 9psi spring shimmed greddy type s knockoff 2.5" I/C Piping t3/t4 70 trim stage 2 .63 .60 bar & plate front mount resistor box and 450s chipped pr4 running crome full boost by 4500 tuned by fook at around 7psi, was shootin for 10 or more, but had some bad boost leaks, have fixed all but the i/c leaking and been running it pretty good for 2 or 3 months. runs solid and pulls pretty ------- hard for 7psi. Hopefully I can convince fook to finish up the tune! im guessing about 225whp butt dyno wise so far, looking to push it close to 300 in the spring. |

stock a6 hf mani te04h turbo 2.25" dp 2.25" charge pipes CCA 6" FMIC DSM bov chipped pm6 running TE - self tuned DSM 450s car ran damn good, didnt hold power too well above 6500 due to the small snail. but for the little money invested, id say it was well worth it |
Re: Your first turbo project......
My very first setup was the following
92 DX hatch w/y7 IHI RHB5 y7 manifold with IHI flange 2.5 dp/straight pipe exhaust HD couplers ghetto ass Monza BOV grdddy bluebox/NGK 1 step colder plugs and she rans like a top Ran with this setup for a couple months pushing 1 bar everyday. Then I spun a rod bearing but still drove it for a month afterwards just never above 3k. lol Damn I loved that setup. Cheap, clean looking, drove perfectly. :'( Next is the 280Z...parts are waiting to go on..just need to clean out my garage to start the install. |
