You have $4k and a B18C1

Ideas, thoughts and reccomendations? I am helping a good friend build his B18C1 Del Sol. I was givin a 4k budget minus my time spent. The engine is in pristine condition and I was thinking just a light hone and standard wisecos or SRP's on Eagles. ECU is already chipped and running Crome, I will be using my wideband to street tune. What turbo/setup injectors etc. would you reccomend for the 400ish whp mark? I am a single cam guy and this twin cam ---- is sort of new to me. From what I gather the first thing to go should be the intake and maybe an Edelbrock in its place. I used block posts on my build but thought maybe a block guard would work fine for him. Before anyone gets into the block guards are bad debate, just stfu on that part and help a brutha out with a build. Thanks.

Pistons, rods, a large t3/to4e, injectors to support it, and a clutch to hold it all. Should be good for 400 whp easily.

If there's cash left over, an intake manifold (AEBS is what I will be running, I have heard good things about the,), ITR cams and an upgraded valvetrain will all help.

If I had 4k at my disposal, that's pretty much what I would spend it on.

A sleeved block/nice turbo would eat up the 4k quickly you still have to remember all the little ----.

If he just wants to make 400whp then you don't even need to touch the motor. Rods and pistons highly recommended but not needed.
Start with the turbo kit, find him a nice ramhorn or topmount, a nice big t3/t4, or T3/T67, Clutch,Intake manifold, intercooler, piping, and all the other misc. ----. Then go from there and decide what you want to do to the motor. Personally I wouldn't build another motor without sleeving it. If I could do it over I would have sleeved mine, oh well I didn't so too bad for me. So IMO go all out on the motor or don't touch it all, except maybe a new HG.

Don't be haste because you have that much money. Still spend wisely as if it were a regular build. If it were me:

General turbo things
Nice manifold
SC61 turbo
Rods/Pistons/Bearings/Studs/etc.
etc.

I don't feel like listing everything. You're not a n00b, you know alot of what is needed. :y I still think a new GT35r is a good way to waste alot of the money so look for a used SC61. I don't think it's any different from a D-series build really.

Re: You have $4k and a B18C1

i think he is looking for a little more detail than :build and t3/t4"

Bizzar has a built d16, so he already realizes that this b18 needs to be"built" as well. i believe he is looking for a little more specific answers.

Derek, id run Eagles/Wisecos with a .63/.60 60trim, and a nice tubular turbo mani
