Yet Another Catch Can Thread, but....

Yeah, yeah, I know. Oh great, another catch can thread. But, I think I have found a way to modify a relatively cheap coolant overflow can into a oil catch can. Refer to my dipiction below. I think I will work. The only problem I forsee is directing the oil vapors to the bottom of the can. Since this can is more or less sealed, access to the inside is not happening. I would like to have a 45 or with a short piece of tube that attempts to direct oil vapors downward, but with the limited access to the inside doesnt allow. Let me know your thoughts.

The Can is a JAZ Coolant Overflow can and can be aquired from Jeg's for 19.99.

why not put the 'new fitting here' as low as you can on the can... so the oil vapors have more steel wool to travel through?

But for the price, why not just buy a real one
If you can't make it under 10 or 15 why bother.
I know we cut corners on here but a nice catch can is only like 40 bucks
Unless you want a name on it like Greddy than you'll pay double
Am I the only one that thinks this? ???

The best one I've seen is the flat black PVC one.

Because fabricating and engineering one is half of the fun. What is the fun in simply bolting something on?

none. that's why i dont buy prefab kits
but you gotta draw the line at some place. the catch can might not be it
but the price your spending to make one that looks like crap compare to one
that will most likey function better for the same if not lesser price if you buy
might be...you make the choice

nice manifold by the way :)
