Was looking at these earlier today, watch for the ---- rapeage shipping in the first auction, and the second one needs rebuilt or so he says.

SDRAWKCAB 06-14-2008 05:44 PM

Re: yay or nay holset

He351 it the same as a Hy35 but the compressor is about 2 mills bigger, its a awesome turbo.
Don't even bother with the first auction its going to be fake bidded way the ---- up by the seller.
Only thing that sucks about Hy35 and He351 is that there such a good turbo and there good for so many apps for them, that there hard to find cheap. :-\

sweet thx
what size is close to a hx35?

Tom-Guy 06-15-2008 09:35 PM

Re: yay or nay holset

Most are slightly smaller as they are a little dieseled out aka small compressor trim and big turbine housing if you want nearly new pulls that support around four hundred they will do you fine

Atticus 06-16-2008 03:14 AM

Re: yay or nay holset

slightly less lag would be nice
Minor Threat said he had full boost between 4500-5000 rpm on his a6
if i get that on my z6 (small port polish head, stock cam, custom log) ill be happy

i sent him an email waiting for a reply

Re: yay or nay holset

Re: yay or nay holset

caul saul and talk to him about swapping turbine housings on an HX, i'm sure he wouldnt charge much extra being as he has thousands of snails most of which need rebuilt anyways.

Holy ---- I want one.

Re: yay or nay holset

that schwitzer looks to be opposite of what you want, big turbine and t housing, not the biggest compressor side (correct me if im wrong)

i got a hy35 about 2 months ago for 275 shipped on ebay. just got to keep your eyes peeled for one if that's what you want. comes with 9cm turbine housing and will still support 400whp, the exhaust is definitely small. but you can make more power, and a bit safer with the hx35. afaik the hx35 12cmtwin turbine housing lags only a bit more than the hy35 9cm open housing. hope that helps

edit: read this in regards to the hy to the he series http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f4/...6k-beware.html

Atticus 06-17-2008 03:42 PM

Re: yay or nay holset

few things im basing it off of

1 a 16g can almost support 300 whp when maxed out, and these things are definatly bigger

2 JD and a few othere ppl recomended these

3 im thinking that with a bigger turbine there will be lots of room to up the boost (ie wont max out the turbine)
so even if i am running more psi it shoudent be ''pushing hot air'' (some one corect me if i have this wrong)

4 with a bit smaller compresor ill see les lag (ie litle boost = more ex gas = more spool = more boost =faster spool (again some one corect me if im wrong)

5 price is also a huge factor

h1c's are near equiv to hx35... the h1cw though is the same as the hx35... with the map enhancement groove that the reg h1c's dont have
