its been boosted and running great for about 6 months. now out of nowhere it starts to over heat. when i pulled opver it seemed like the over flow tank was boiling..it seemed like it was blowing air and it needed some water. i filled it..and the episode happened again a couple of weeks later. it doesnt happen all the time. i dont get vapor nor white smoke out of my exhaust and the car still runs strong. i checked the oil cap for condensation and there was nothing. thanxs for ur help in advance.

uhh check normal things likeee thermostat? any leaks anywhere? if u cant find anything a block check always helps u can rent one at an auto store like autozne advance auto....

do you have ac?

it might be when you have the ac on the ac fan isnt working,

is overheating at idle, or when running it hard?

 

sounds like you have a small leak somewhere.. get a cooling system pressure tester and put the cooling system under pressure then you will know for sure and exactly where the leak is

 

It could be something as simple as your fan relay switch that turns on your radiator fan when the temperature is right. That happened to me once. Do a compression check just to be safe.

 

it doesnt over heat @ iddle. i dont think its the thersmostat since it does reach normal operating temp. i just drove it for about 30min and the temp kept @ a bit bellow the half mark. will check for leaks...and i think the fan is turning on since its not over heating ALL the time.

 

sis you say you are putting water in there ?? you need to have 50/50 dulution hondas seem to be really picky in the summer time about this.....

 

I'm betting blown HG. Minor leak into the cylinder. During running conditions you don't get any white smoke.
A leak down test will find it - or presssure test of the cooling system.

 

no white smoke @ all. i will be doing leak check.

 

pull ur spark plugs an check to see if they are wet.....easy way to check for a blown head.....then leakdown.....

but honestly it sounds like a thermostat....just cuz it doesnt overheat @ idle doesn't mean it's not stock closed.....alot of hondas will run fine until u start getting into stop an go traffic...thats when the bitch will overheat on u...just make sure u keep that heater control in ur sights an ready to throw it on full blast when u see that temp raise....
