WTF is this turbo????
I have a turbo laying around that i thought was a t04b, but as I'm reading further into it I've hit a point where it's all confusion. So maybe some fancy turbo expert will chime in and save the day :o? Here's all the specs I could get off it, keep in mind the dim's could vary slightly as I used a tape.... Thanks for the help!
Compressor: (m10) AiResearch t04, with m9 backplate and an A stamped below it .60 a/r 3” inlet 2” outlet 54mm wheel inducer 70mm wheel exducer Trim: 60 Journal bearing center housing, with y9 and a 4 stamped on it. Turbine: t6 (4.5” x 2.75” divided flange) 1.15 a/r 2.75” exhaust outlet 63.5mm wheel exducer 73mm wheel inducer Trim: 76 |
holy ----!!!! a t6 turbo inlet flange? theres no way that can be a t04b. where did you get the turbo from? that big of an exhaust housing is usually for diesel applications. post pics of it.

I bought it from this dude who always came into the parts store I worked at. He didn't know anything about it, he just got it off someone he knew and wanted to get rid of it, so I took it for $75. It's been sitting for almost 2 years since I had no use for it, and now that I'm in the midst of a project, it's intriguing me. I originally assumed it had a t4 turbine, but when it came down to measuring it's definitely a t6 flange! So any info on this, since it has no nomenclature tag, would be incredible.

that thing is massive. go with a different turbo. i thought you were going to take my recommendation and go with a t70?

haven't gone away from that, was just curious how this would stack up. either way, the compressor on this doesn't seem efficient for my power goal anyway. that's why i was looking into compressor changes. t70 is by far my choice once im not poor.

see if you can sell it and use the money towards a t70.
